His draw down is too much for one week. That means he has no concept of risk management. There are trade risk limits, day risk limits, week risk limits, and monthly limits. Once you hit the limit, you stop to re-analyze and demo. In fact, if you have a strategy that is capable of losing you 60% in one week, you should not be live trading. I think this guy looks at trading as playing a game.

I fell into this exact trap. Ended up Turing 10k to 30k day trading. Then made another 10k off that the next year. Used the 40k for a down payment on a 2nd home. Should of taken my chips off the table but I thought I had a “system” and i was different. Used loaned money and lost 50k 😂. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way to get it through your head. But I definitely warn other people now of falling for the same day trading crap.

In light of the ongoing global economic crisis, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize investing in diverse sources of income that are not reliant on the government. Despite utilizing the correct strategies and possessing the right assets, there can still be variations in the investment returns among different investors. It is important to acknowledge that experience plays a crucial role in investment success. I strategically withdrew my profits just before the market correction, and now I am taking advantage of the buying opportunities once again.

Dave heard day trading and refused to hear the young man out. I like Dave but this call was frustrating.

Tough love from Dave. But, if everybody went the safe route, the statistical route, we would never see a new business started in this country. The statistical odds are too low. But some brave souls do defy the odds and succeed.

The lotto is even worse. I hear about when people win you never hear of those that lose most of earnings every week, week after week. It is sad because lots of people think it is the only way they can get ahead. It is a tax on the mathematically challenged.

Some people do the lottery as a hobby. I worked at a convenience store and people would spend $100’s of dollars a day every morning. It’s their money so if that’s what they want to do so be it. The worst was a lady who came in trying to get money for her mortgage and spend $1,100 on tickets in one day. I wanted to just say no. “Give me 20 number 10’s, 15 number 5’s.” It was brutal to see.

What does that have anythingbto do with this. If I listened to my father, I would be a gambler. He's up to his eye balls in debt.

@@sblijheid That's why I said "Good" fathers. I didn't mean any disrespect to you or your situation but too many smart young men are growing up without the kind of guidance that teaches their boys to be disciplined and patient. To steer their ambition and drive towards long term gains over quick wins.

Ooohhh ouch that bites poor kid - yes he was foolish but I did the same thing in my forties thinking I was so smart 'cause I made some money and then I lost it all and more - aaaaarrrrgggghhhh! I'm so glad Dave preaches not to play the individual stock trading game, wish I had listened to my family advising me against it when I screwed up!
