I feel like I have to put a disclaimer on every single video these days but..... this video was filmed WEEKS before Shallon started getting dragged as of recently and I just WANT TO REITERATE FOR THE HALF-LISTENERS - I DO NOT AGREE WITH MOST OF THE STUFF THAT LADY BE YAPPING ABOUT. I am not a stan of hers, and I really haven't watched that many of her videos to consider myself a supporter. She has made a few decent points here and there (even a broken clock can be right twice a day 💀) and I thought that one point was fitting at the time I filmed this. PLEASE FOR ONCE get off my back I beg, thank you 😭

That yellow is the best yellow- vibrant, true to color, pigmented, doesn't brush away when applying or fade. Pretty damn impressive. Not many can pull off yellow either and she made it look elegant to top it off!

As a bartender , i feel my income has always been related to my looks. I dated guys who did not care about my intelligence , my studies , my personality .. they dated me for how i looked. Without realizing it, a big part of my self-esteem has been related to my looks, which made me lowkey insecure. I need to stop seeking validation for my appearance and stop hanging out with people who solely value me for that. I deserve better 😌

Confidence doesn’t point to someone else. Confidence points to self and says “I love me.” Confidence doesn’t compare itself to others. Confidence says “Imma do what’s best for me” regardless of what’s popular Confidence asks: have I lived up to my OWN values?” Vs “have I lived up to others opinion of me?” Confidence says: I don’t have to be perfect but I do have to do the best I can with what I’ve been given and have energy for. Confidence says: Yes, I believe in myself. Yes, I also believe in others AND BOTH CAN EXIST AT THE SAME TIME! Confidence says: I can be given constructive criticism and it doesn’t mean I’m a bad person, worthless, or someone inherently less valuable. Confidence is something you learn over time. It’s something you work on. It’s something you CULTIVATE by getting clear on who you are. Your goals, and being aligned.

Career-wise: I definitely had to build confidence in myself and what I’m capable of to work as a nurse in the operating room. It’s a completely different world from the floor. I was told by my mom, who is also an OR nurse, that if you don’t build up that thick skin, they will eat you alive. I’m amongst the younger end of nurses being 28, and when I’m surrounded by almost all male surgeons sometimes, I have to assert myself to make my presence known. It can be exhausting, but when the attendings are pleased to see me when they walk in the door, I KNOW I’m doing something right.

I have a long journey ahead of me, but I feel waaay more confident now (as a 23 year old) then I ever have. The journey upward is hard and takes a lot of reprogramming, but it's possible even if it seems like it's not. Never give up because you deserve the best just like everyone on this planet. ♥️

Its a journey, its a process, its something that takes work especially when you start off as insecure or lacking any confidence at all. For me the 'fake it til you make it' thing really worked. I'm still not confident compared to the average person but I'm ten times more confident than I was at 18 (I am 24). Honestly, give yourself time and practice self-love and you'll slowly start to feel the change.

When you know deep down, that something greater is waiting for you it helps you to keep your eyes on the prize, whatever happened with the kids at school, what your ex boyfriend said about you, or your grades are falling; your guts tells you you'll be alright. I think it's a grace, when God lets you know that. It's always been the case for me and it helped me to move on from a lot of toxicity and negativity. Thank you for reminding us of that

I had a “best friend” in high school who, for some reason, expected me to not to like the skin I’m in. She use to constantly say how she was going to use skin bleaching creams to get a lighter skin tone and tried to convince me that I should too. I had to separate myself from her because the things she said and did started to take a toll on me. I start off my day by telling myself that I am beautiful and ambitious all the time and it has been helping me so far.

that's incredibly messed up, as someone who unfortunately fell for the skin lightening regime. I applaud you for separating yourself from someone toxic like that. Thankfully, my skin tone has not taken a toll because of my mother and her advice that she gave me and it's the same saying I'm gifting to you. You are a tree, your roots run deep and you stand proudly in the sky, never take notice to those who throw stones at you for all they wish to seek is your ripened fruit. I dont know if anyone understands me but Jackie feels to me like a bigger sister, like the woman I aspire to be. This may be 'just' KZfaq but I am thankful for her being here, open and honest, always trying to better herself and fighting for whats important to her. I literally never met a woman being that confident and humble at the same time. Also Jackie made me realize that I am okay not being bffs with everyone and knowing I am still a good person and have good people in my life and speaking my truth is important. I always felt really insecure about myself. I even had family members tell me your fat and need to lose weight. Rn I'm trying. Its hard when people talk about your insecure. I'm still a teen and trying to figure who I am. I'm still young and growing. It's hard I cry almost everyday.

You ARE figuring things out, allow yourself room to grow! And listen, when I was young my family always commented on my weight and now looking back even heavier then I was then, looking at old pictures I actually looked good! Now that I’m heavier, they don’t say anything at all 😂 What people say is just that, words. A lot of the time, you’ll learn it doesn’t hold that much weight. Ever changing in stance and importance. Love yourself enough to figure out what YOU like and what your opinion is because they aren’t going to be living your life for you 💛 hope it gets better.

@1lastsht I got upset and took a dig at another woman today which is outside my usual character 😞 It came from that projection and I feel terrible. I try hard not to negative self talk but I somehow always end up doing it. It's a habit I desparately want to break

For me growing up I wasn’t confident because EVERYONE in my family was light skin. I’m a really dark and I got it from my dad. All my features are from my father whom was never around me. I felt so ugly. As I got older I realized that I’m actually really pretty. Like exceptionally so. It took me a long time to understand that.

I was so self conscious when I was a teen and could never do anything without thinking about what other people thought of me, and feeling like everybody was judging me. And people were judging, they still are all the time. But I realised whatever I do, people are gonna judge me. You have to find the people who make you feel confident, but also accept that your self love is the only love that can make you feel the best

give yourself some credit though; to be fair a lot of people are genuinely going through it at the moment. it's okay to not be okay sometimes. it's okay to hurt. just don't sulk in it, remind yourself of why you're that chick and keep it moving! surround yourself with people you know that will build you up and encourage you if you can
