SAME I really want a tamagotchi on but where i live it’s going for around $250, and people actually buy it for that price. i was shocked when i first saw the price because i certainly can’t justify spending that much money on a small little tamagotchi, because like you i’m not a serious collector, i just wanted to get one because i used to love tamagotchis when i was a young child and the newer versions seem really fun. also i’m currently in year 1 of college, so i don’t have that kind of money to blow as well

I feel like after releasing two tamas with more OG playstyles they might go for something a little different. Again, hoping. Then we could probs afford them haha! The button part of it I am fine with for the most part, but sometimes it can be unresponsive. But, the damn swipe mechanic makes me so freaking mad. I mean like 50% of the time it works. It especially sucks in miny games like Rocket or Ping pong. Like, the whole point of the game is on the swipe mechinic. Like what the heck? Why did they have to change it from buttons to touch-sensitive sensor pieces of crap!?

That is true now! Since the Meets and On are no longer in production, their values have gone up quite a bit. When I made this video, it was easy to find a used On for $25. I hope you enjoy the Pix!

That is a tough question! I think I like the Meets a little better because of the fun themes. I love the Sanrio and the Fantasy!

I also thought of ordering a new Tama for emotional support but I can't decide between the Pix and the Smart. Which of them do you like better?

The Tamagotchi On has an app that you can connect to to download custom rooms, items, accessories, and mini-games. It isn't the same type of "custom" in the PIX, but i've found so many fun and cute wallpapers to download onto my On

You can change the walls with a variety of themes. Along with that, there are many types of furniture to buy or customize when it comes to color

The top is clicky, if it’s clicky then you have a Tamagotchi pix.

unfortunately the on has been discontinued, and the accompanying app will also end at the end of august! :( that’s the reason why prices have jumped so high, since they phased it out to promote the pix

What is your budget? That might be a huge determining factor, since the market has drastically changed since this video came out. The Pix is easy to find between $35-60 USD, but the On/Meets has turned into a collector’s item running over $100. On the plus side, the Pix doesn’t have much to do with selfies; the camera is used to capture color or take photos of your Tama’s adventures, so that plays into creativity!

In theory, tamagotchi plus color is what you are looking for. It has the same level of difficulty of the original Tamagotchi, but with colors. However, they are incredibly expansive. Even the On/Meets feel like Old generation games, very pixelated, including the movements. I actually really like it for the nostalgia factor. I do not have the Pix, but I think the Pix and the Smart are the only versions that feel "new".

@@HanaNoNeko I had looked at those once, but, like you said, very expensive. I have an original 1996 Tamagotchi, and it literally takes a WEEK to hit adult state. Child stage lasts about 2-3 days, and Teen stage lasts anywhere from 3-4 days, and then, once adults, the older they get the harder they are to keep alive, until they finally die from old age. And it's also a lot harder to keep them alive simply long enough to GET to adult stage. THAT'S what I miss in the new Tamas. That, and the fact that I can't compete with my friends to see who can keep their adult alive longest, as there ISN'T any "die from old age" mechanic anymore. I got myself 2 Tamagotchi Smarts, as they are more reminiscent of the originals in some ways, although they also aren't any more challenging than the Meets/Ons or Pix or etc.. They were also cheaper to buy from Amazon Japan, than the Pix were to buy from Amazon US, and that was including paying for faster shipping. Thanks for your response, though! Maybe I'll try keeping an eye out for the Plus Color again in the hopes I can luck out and find a cheap one, even if it's beat all to heck. Haha!

Maybe you dont trust ebay, but that's where I bought all my tamas including my fairy one. Keep in mind prices have spiked for some reason specifically with the pink. You could also check target but last time I was there they only had the nanos.

I like the white! I think the green or white is a great choice, especially for a more “boyish” style. I think this could be a good lesson as well in teaching your son to take pride in the things HE enjoys!

There are vpets called digivices. You raise and care and evolve them. Can also battle with friends. My wife and kid love the Digivice X because you can pause them.

It's still worth it! The fun thrill of making genes and generation upon generation of cute tamas is really fun :>

Some locations has background menu. Once you unlock the location, check the setting and go to the last option (the name is something like "icon background"). There you can choose all available background
