You should know pressure drop before designing equipment

Is a pressure drop an output from a calculation, or is it an input into the design process? Is it both? I explain I what I found confusing about equipment design.

Hi, Hugo. I am not Pat, but I can answer- it depends on pump and pipelines of the system. And that part vary on size and cost (and history, if it is brownfield).
