What's the duty cycle of a dehumidifier? Usually it's not perfectly efficient, so the temperature goes up a bit while the absolute humidity goes down

What is the meaning of the ( reactor) ? Anyone can help, please. is it a component such as valves, or is it a pressure generator?

Great video.. So here is a question. Using variable speed centrifugal pumps for swimming pools. When the pump is above the pool level (suction lift no gravity feed) sometimes pumps loose prime. Will installing smaller diameter pipes increase pressure to the pump head preventing loss of prime. So 50mm pipes to pump head 63mm discharge?

Hey Pat do you have any suggestions on a book that you could recommend for piping systems and pumps
@mlvz6571Ай бұрын
Excellent explanation For me the system curve can be defined as a function of the recycle flow, the pruduct flow or the pump flow. It just depens on what flow is important in the process. But maybe the system curve definition is based on the pump flow because the definition is maybe based on a simple example without recycle line. Thank you Pat !

When I pump horizontal, how do I know how long my pipe can be? I want to pump water 100 - 200m through the garden (downslope) in pipes that maintain some pressure for the sprinklers. I understand this height (Hm) now a bit, bit i haven't figured out how to calculate how strong my pump needs to be to keep pressure for 100 metres of pipe. Can anyone explain?

Pat, thanks for this video. Could you do a video of pump head calculation in the situation where on the discharge side, several lines connect to the main discharge line ? For the pressure drops should we consider the total flow rate for the section of the main pipe after connection of the other pipes ? And/or should we consider also the head of the pumps from other lines than connect to the main one ? I realized that everybody knows how to calculate pump head in the easiest scenario (2 tanks, 1 pipe, no other connections) but no one explains how to deal with connections. Have a nice day !

Chemeng student here, I’m a little bit confused. I thought the reason that liquid evaporates at toom temperature is because the fugacity of the component in the liquid (P*i times xi) is greater than in the atmosphere (P times yi)

Hi Pat, thanks for the viedo. Why inreasing the suction pressure will also increase the flow rate ?
@ProcesswithPat2 ай бұрын
Try think about it in reverse… can you think of a situation where you increase the pressure at the inlet to something, and the flow rate through it decreases? That’d be counterintuitive, no? Pressure is a form of energy (think Bernoulli)
