As a woman who loves to cut her hair, it’s nice to see an “average” Black woman w short hair shown in a feminine way. All of us don’t look like Lupita or runway models lol. I also understand wanting to see other natural hairstyles. A lot of the comments are correct about most Black women not rocking a shaved cut. I’d like to see more women with locs and medium/long type 4 natural hair. More variety and positive promotion will help Black women see how beautiful their natural hair is, whether they decide to cover it up or not.

I might start off as a negative nancy but I am happy with this ad. I live in America and most BW are not walking around bald. They either have natural hair, weaves and wigs, or braided/twisted hairstyles. If I were not Black and from another country I would half expect to come and see every BW as bald (based on media promotion)All this bald BW stuff is just a last attempt and defeminizing us. Shaven, buzz cut hairstyles are closely associated with men. A large percentage of women in ads and nearly every Black model is bald. I genuinely think it's because thery think Black model's hair will outshine their white model's and Asian model's. When every other race has straight hair and you put it next to our versatile, gravity defying, fluffy curls it does make stark contrast. Healthy, natural curly hair would be best but at the same time, we can take this step by step. However I am truly greatful for this promotion.

Your corrective promotions are just what the world needs. I am but a mere outsider who has learned much about colorism and featurism from your channel and the importance of positive DSBW representation. I’m in a club where we are creating a children’s book touching on different human rights issues. For our character pitch meeting, I am pitching a character who is a tall, DS black girl that is soft, sensitive, thoughtful, and girly. I think young girls need to know that feminity isn’t just reserved for white passing, light skinned women. Even as a biracial tan girl, I noticed how most feminine women in the media I consumed were blonde and white and it made me feel a certain way. So I can only imagine the message it sends to dark skin black women to see themselves “represented” by light skin black women.

Loved this! A fit, lovely, dark-skinned lady shown with beauty and class, a popular TV show theme everyone is familiar with, and it's for reading, which I adore! I know some made comments about her hair (or lack thereof), but in this instance I believe the short cut enhanced her beauty; I'm natural and my hair is just above waist-length straightened, so I know we can grow it and it's not a necessity on her. Also, peep how the one her mom recommended wasn't black like you might expect, and the lone bm was the jester! Awesome find, Chrissie...can't wait for more! ♡

I make it a point to financially reward promotion I agree with ❤️

You notice that too.....like she would more attractive with hair. No tea...no shade. You rarely see light skin bald women in the modeling or advertisement world. It's annoying to always see dark skin women bald. 😑
