Took it to the beach for the first time and the wind took it and blew it into the sea however despite my best efforts to retrieve it I couldn't get a grip on it due to it's size and I watched it float away. I now know the pain Tom Hanks felt as he was forced to watched his beloved volley ball float away in the film 'Cast Away'

There's a lot more than material cost that goes into retail value. You're not taking into consideration the cost of running the factory itself, its employees, the cost of shipping to us, the included costs from the manufacturer to compensate returns/defects/exchanges, etc. Economics aside, this product was mostly intended for (and largely purchased by) organizations such as schools, boys clubs, youth centers, and so on where $150 can go a long way in terms of use and people using it.

I bought this product thinking it would be a fun idea to bring to the beach! Unfortunately it was a windy day so the ball ran a way from us destroying everything in its path the police said it was to dangerous to try to stop so it just kept rolling and rolling until it was out of sight I think their might have been reports of it being spotted around the California coast line. But we have no idea, but it is a good product would recommend it!

To be honest, it is a bit overpriced. If you lower it down to about $100 then I would buy it.
