We used a disc harrowing plow to break up the clumps and grade all at once. The issue would be the rocks and sticks. The only rake I remember us using was the hay rake. I remember picking up rocks and throwing them into a wagon behind a tractor that was taken and dumped elsewhere. That was the kid's job, 5 of us, but that was common in the 50s. Sticks were gathered and piled on the "burn pile".

I enjoy your video's i have learned a few things and even liked when you struggle , it m makes your a real person with failures and fixes . It was good to Mrs. Stoney Ridge today ( but keeping her safe is priority ) though she works a lot it always good to see her from time to time and that she works as hard as you do to get to where you want the farm to be. Thanks for the content.

We were very poor farmers growing up. We used a big piece of chain link fence with logs on it for weight. We pulled it with the old ford 1 ton . One of us boys would ride the fence and pick up the large stones and brush, piled it up on the fence until it was too much. Then we loaded it in the truck. Wash rinse and repeat. We would use broadcast spreaders and walked . Miles and miles casting seed. Your method sure looks easier.

How nice it is see Mrs. Stoney Ridge on stage. May I suggest you teach her how to operate some machinery, she could sit and drive, you could pick up the sticks, etc, >) Love what you guys do, makes me wish I was younger and could embark on such an exciting challenge.

I love hearing this from folks....remember she's 5 foot 2 and 105lbs. She cannot operate these tractors safely. We will have a subcompact tractor at some point and she's gonna be all over it....but she can't even reach the pedals....and we've ran a test...if she can hold down the clutch for 90 seconds she can drive it....she can't buddy. Don't take for granted that this doesn't take a high amount of skill, strength and dexterity....it's not like driving the family car. Safety is our foremost concern....it's simply not safe no matter what anyone says....she also knows this

"Concentric Circles" - I could not agree more. We have wild hogs that tear up part of our property, and I am looking at trying to smooth out the grass areas. The box blade is not really going to do it - we are on a sand ground, and this tool might be too big for my L3901 tractor, but a lift-able drag harrow should get me close to smooth... it would be totally level, but much smoother is good. I am going to have to take the grass down to sand, but the aggressive, and the less aggressive tine drag effort should help. Flipping the drag over, with tines up, should allow me to smooth everything out very well... I loved what I see in this video though... excellent work! Dropping a LIKE on your video, smashing the big red button of love as well! Watching and Supporting!
