My very close friend told our choir that he was struggling with depression, that he may not be his best for a little while, and that he was sorry. So my choir arranged to sing this song for him at our concert. We practiced on weekends, before school, after school, and on holidays to get it just right. He had no clue we had been learning it just for him, and he cried. It was amazing.

I saw this show on the 20th, and it was so emotional and amazing! Andrew was so powerful. Edit: WOAH JUST REALIZED I KNOW ONE OF THE BOYS! HE'S A FRIEND OF MY FRIEND AND HE'S FROM MY TOWN...HE MADE IT BIG! WHOO!

i saw dear evan hansen on april 14th. i met andrew, i met everybody. they changed my life. the message of this song and the entire play has saved me from some dark thoughts i have. this show is what keeps me alive and keeps me fighting and this cast keeps me going. congrats to all the jimmy awards nominees, you’re all going to do amazing things

I’m struggling with a lot of things like Depression and Anxiety and suicidal thoughts, this is one song that makes me feel like I belong in this world with people. This song is the reason I’m still alive. I believe there may be people out there just like me I just haven’t met them yet or I have.

This brought tears to my eyes. I don’t often cry during these kind of videos, but this one was amazing and with the message that Alex was giving the kids it just made it that much more emotional. This was beautiful and amazing. I’m so glad that this musical is on broadway and is so popular because there are people who need to hear this message and until I started listening to this musical and read the script I didn’t think I was one of them but it has changed my life. So thank you to the cast and crew and everyone that has ever been a part of this musical and those who wrote the script everything. This musical is everything I didn’t know I needed until about a year and a half ago. So again thank you so much. It means more than you know. Especially to someone who has lost two classmates that I maybe wasn’t extremely close to but people who died too young. One died when he was 12 and was in the same grade as me and the other died when he was like 16 or 17 I think and was a grade above me.

What I love about this is how real it is, there are so many voices singing tremendously and all of those voices are an asset to the performance which is a very real metaphor to life saying that everyone's voice is important and that we will all be heard eventually.
