Ever since I heard there's a S rank hero who sends flying robots with extreme destructive power to battle and has no regard for anyone's safety I couldn't think of anyone else as the possible mad cyborg. The fact genos hasn't connected the dots and probably never will is a classic opm moment.
@justinschafer52694 ай бұрын
My ongoing theory on Genos is that "it" is actually 100% android. The backstory is a fabrication, and Kuseno is his creator. As a rival of Bofoi and not wanting to be seen as a copycat of his rival, Kuseno took an alternative approach to his design, i.e., Genos. He made Genos pursue strength as a primary functionality and used the data from the fights it encounters to be used as a reference to perpetually upgrade it into a more perfect weapon. It's also possible that Kuseno, as a last resort, created a self-destruct protocol so that his design wouldn't be taken and utilized by his rival Bofoi. I also believe that in the manga in chapter 40 pages 4-6, when Kuseno first brings up "The Mad Cyborg," it wasn't some shared concern they are both fated to care about, but to see Genos’ response and to make sure the obsession that’s programmed is still there because, in my theory, it’s this fabricated backstory that is programmed to ensure Genos is constantly pursuing strength. I also think the image of Genos on page 5 is a subtle hint at this truth. Given this theory being made to be hidden, it’s no wonder the following thought bubble on page 6 after “…, his hatred doesn’t fade…” is all “…” and we are not privy to what was being speculated. I also think the conversation was continued in a West World style one-on-one, with the goal of further strengthening the programmed idea that Kuseno is ultimately Genos’ true ally as they share a vendetta against “the Mad Cyborg.” This would also explain why Genos can’t fathom that "the Mad Cyborg" could be defeated, even by Saitama, as it is a core function of Genos to always be chasing after this fabricated villain. I also think it explains why he processes things quickly and gives long responses in great detail, with self-deprecating humor given this response intended because Genos doesn’t have an organic brain but a mechanical mechanism that acts as a brain, and thus not a cyborg but instead, as previously mentioned, an android. In the anime, there are scenes where you can see the mechanical casing that should be guarding a brain assuming Genos is a cyborg, but let alone a brain, we have never once seen any organic component that allows Genos to function. To me, it could be an ongoing joke that all those emotional scenes that establish Genos as still human for us are actually mocking us, and it’s meant to be shown again - as there are many examples - the characters in the show are biased in their perception of individuals based on looks, and that they automatically assume that Genos is a cyborg, without suspicion at least, in large part due to the aesthetically appealing design of Genos. As this has been parodied before, in "Negima, Inuyashiki, and others," and yes - to the nonexistent questioner who asked, why give those titles specifically, is there a reason? - I highlighted these as I believe One incorporated or will incorporate elements from both, like the trust in looks in Inuyashiki, and what I think will occur regarding something which occurred to a “robot”(I would argue also technically an android) character, Chachamaru Karakuri, from Negima, and given One’s propensity towards incorporating any and all tropes from all genres, to me, it makes sense One would take the opportunity, I see available for the character Genos. This wouldn’t be the first time such a twist is invoked, and given the potential build-up for the reveal, assuming it would be much later, would have us, the fans, re-reading and re-watching the entire show with this newfound understanding, as it would change the meaning of the story entirely, at least elements featuring Genos. This theory would perfectly tie into almost every consequential scene and alter its meaning, and allow for the continued character development surrounding Genos like they did with the character, Chachamaru Karakuri, which would be something in and of itself One would get to parody. I also forgot to mention earlier, but given the fact that Genos, when merged with his mechanical component, retained the data, and Saitama’s fusion occurred, resulting in Saitama forgetting his deeds, which, given this discrepancy, has ties to another trope from another niche sci-fi genre that was also filled with parodied references to this niche in the genes and others throughout this episode. It was also used to further tie into a defining moment that I believe is being set up for Genos’ character, that has a lot to do with what occurred with the character Chachamaru Karakuri, and Genos inevitably being deemed a “real boy,” so to speak (Sorry, that kinda gives away a spoiler, I’m Negima and a potential spoiler for OPM if I’m right). Skipping the long detailed rant that goes over the various tropes parodied, the one that offers circumstantial evidence in support of my theory has to do with causality and time travel rules. Given in my theory, Genos is a machine, the laws of causality - at least ones commonly made up in the genre - wouldn’t apply to Genos, assuming I’m right, as they are applied only to humans (possibly animals, or even organic organisms in general, but as our species is pretty self-centered we haven’t fleshed out rules regarding non-human organisms in similar situations). This being an established inconsistency between the rules regarding non-biological interactions, and biological ones which seem to be what plays out after Saitama goes backward in time with Genos’ core. One such unspoken rule - possibly unintentioned - is implied as there is a lack of consequence when allowing a hard drive from the future into a computer in the past or, to refer to a circumstance I recall vividly from a relevant movie in which a tape is placed into a tape recorder and played, even though the tape was recorded by that camera, but from a different time; though simply coming back and interacting with yourself, depending on the writer, invokes various consequences (Both disappearing, the future you ceasing to exist, creating a phenomenon in which the universe tries to correct the abhorrent phenomenon by creating a situation where one dies, etc., etc.) Given the diehard parody style of One littered throughout creating OPM, it is abundantly apparent that he would go to such lengths to parody every trope he could think to parody, as long as it stays true to the story's development, and so as not to intentionally create inconsistencies that are themselves for intentional comical purposes, like with the cat that injured him or the mosquito that he couldn’t kill. (I have my own fun theory regarding the mosquito, that I don’t think is actually intended by One, but fun all the same. To summarize, his hands clapping together created a wind current that always moved the mosquito out of the way before his hands came completely together). Now that I am thinking about it, the simple fact the core recorded all the details of the fight between Garou and Saitama strongly suggests it acts as Genos’ brain. As we have all but confirmed the lower **extremities** “I would argue as components built to resemble extremities,” are mechanical, what would any of you argue, assuming you even would after I provided this much supporting evidence, is a biological organ that would qualify Genos as anything but an android, and more specifically argue Genos qualifying as a cyborg?

If that is a potential reason you may think my theory is “way too obvious,” I hope this explanation quells any potential issues you may have in the main driving premise of my theory. If you were not referring to my theory, please read my comment regarding this matter. I biasedly think my theory is decently thought out and would make for some great anime moments down the line, and I think it’s reasonable to assume it’s possibly right, especially given the writing style of One; his age, and what influences others in the industry played a part in making his work what it is. Upon finding Genos, he doctored the truth behind the incident to give Genos a purpose and will to survive the enhancement process. The altered knowledge helped Genos maintain his sense of self as well kept Genos loyal to the Doctor through his dependency on maintenance and upgrades. All the while, Doctor Kuseno watches the young cyborg progress, learns ways to push the limits of the cyborg upgrades, and, likely, continues to prepare for the day Genos discovers the truth. ~~ It also doesn't help that we saw younger Genos with more natural body than what was ultimately left after the cyborg surgery.

It was mentioned that Kuseno's family was killed by mad cyborg though
@okipullup61034 ай бұрын
I had a terrifying nightmare that’s pretty similar to this. It’s about me going insane during the night and killing my family, then waking up to see their corpses and not understanding what happened. Then I find a note on the fridge that says I was the one who killed them. And the note was written by the me from last night. 😰

I am surprised that no one else responded to this comment. That must have been interesting to experience. Do you remember when it happened?

@@enlightened7master thanks for commenting. I honestly can’t remember everything but it was a dark night and there was no sound to be heard. No different than most of my dreams, where I cuddle myself in some place that’s dark and quiet, like I’m trapped.
@enlightened7master4 ай бұрын
@@okipullup6103 I meant how long ago you had this dream, but the additional details are interesting. I wonder why you typically have dreams in an environment as such. My dreams definitely vary a lot, though I expect there are similarities I could determine if I compared enough of them. They also are at least usually positive or neutral.
@okipullup61034 ай бұрын
@@enlightened7master ok. But I will say that this particular dream is very rare for me. I never have nightmares. And it’s not like anybody has a nightmare and wakes up in the middle of the night. Is that a thing? I mean, it was a strange and vivid dream. Before depression hit me, I used to have dreams of animal paradise and a beautiful world and that sort of thing, now I’m fighting wars against myself in here.
@enlightened7master3 ай бұрын
@@okipullup6103 I understand, but I really do not think that the dream you had is predicting anything along those lines. I also do not ever have such dreams now, but having them and waking up in the middle of the night is common. I mainly had such dreams and experienced waking up because of them when I was quite young though. It must have been great to have the dreams that you had before your current situation, but you can return to having them by taking steps to get back to a healthy state and by having lucid dreams, therefore being able to control your dreams. Lucid dreams can even be utilized to get you back to a healthy state.

That would be one hell of a plot twist
@justinschafer52694 ай бұрын
My plot twist is even more hellish, prepare for the flames because my theory cooks.
