Well people here in comments gving the argument that if USA or Britain would have occupied Tibet, their situation would have been like Libya or Sudan. To them I want to ask, how is China's presence better than that? Do the majority of Tibetan people can actually live on their birth land? No they had to flee their own country after China occupation. Are they allowed to raise their own flag? Are they even allowed to criticise Xi jin ping? Are they allowed for free speech? Does the Chinese government respects Tibet's spiritual leader? What's the point in living like a dead soul under Chinese oppression? How is it any better than to be killed by an American missile? You know what, this modernity came with a cost, cost to shut up, cost to not speak your heart out, cost to not propagate your spiritual leader's teachings, cost to remain in fear of the PLA who kidnaps Tibetans if they are found to even raise their own country's flag, cost of thousands of Tibetans who cannot live in their own motherland. That's the modernity you showed in this video!

@@sherrylee14 I don't need to visit any place physically for seeking the answers to the kind of questions I've asked. First of all, I know majority of Tibetans who've fled their own motherland, they live all over India, in my neighborhood, people are in USA, UK too. The Chinese govt affiliated Global times has spewed falsehood on Tibetan spiritual leaders like no other, opinionated but hollow, hollow since it has no ground to those arguments. Just one question to you, you as a Chinese citizen, if you can criticise ( and by criticism I mean constructive criticism) your government, your prime minister, the other cabinet ministers living in China without facing any consequences, then I'll rest my case. See I've no intention to be rude in a comment box for a simple scenic youtube video. The video is amazing there's no doubt in that, but somewhere down the line, how's it beautiful when the people of that motherland cannot live there? This introspection, this realisation Is what I wanted to instill, that's it.

Hahaha, that just goes to show how much the CCP has brainwashed the locals, even mainland China was poor and under educated during the 50s. To say that that China is the reason they have schools 70 years later is BS. The locals aren't even aware of the huge amount of monestaries and temples that were destroyed in the cultural revolution which are only remembered by free Tibetans living in India and other countries

Back then even China was also same, in fact if you watch in KZfaq, European and western countries are also in same condition. Do they all including Chinese people themselves want to follow old days, the answer is no. So stop the dirty propaganda. As every country in the world, Tibet progress themselves. They earn themselves. How do they survive without working hard work.

China did an awesome job in this region and liberated so many from the tough feudal landlords. We forget today that most Tibetans were slaves or serfs in a feudal system in which they were regarded as saleable private property, had no land or freedom, and were subject to inhuman punishment by mutilation or amputation. The economy and culture were stagnant for centuries, life expectancy was 35.5 years, illiteracy was over 90 percent, 12 percent of Lhasa’s population were beggars, and the Dalai Lama was responsible for all of this. I praise China for a job well done! I can't wait to visit Potala Palace and walk the streets and explore this beautiful place.

That's the problem of the western simple minded perspective. It's an old habit from christianity, to see one side as noble and the other as evil. They have no idea how horrible the tibetans were. They killed the bad guys thinking now the good guys will prevail, only to find out the other guy is more evil. Like waging war against alqaeda only to have isis pop up. The west don't have a culture of learning from history, while the chinese have documented and studied history in detail for more than 2000 years

Tibet during the Dalai Lama, populated with serfs. During that time there were classes of people and the lowest, the majority were serfs. They work like slaves and punishment was harsh. Legs and hands were cut off for mistakes done. There were serfs with their eye gorge out. The serf eats little and rests little . They were worse than modern slaves.Tibet has always been China's autonomous region.. When China was weak they revolted and China sent an army to take over Tibet. They free all serfs, give them land, education and home to stay. They can grow their own food, own house and can send their kids to school. They learn Chinese, Tibetan language and other educational necessities. Tibet starts to progress and grows double digit GDP. Southern Tibet was an annex by India today called Arunacal Pradesh. Little has changed since then. There is little progress. You can compare both the regions. The people of Tibet now are far more progressive and peaceful compared to AP.

Tibet is and will always be a part of China. Those who live in India or other western countries claiming to be real Tibetans cannot and will not represent us,which are real Tibetans living in Tibet. Those people don't want or are willing to understand what Tibet is like now. We don't want the so-called "Free Tibet". In fact, now Tibet is free in a real sense. We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, no more poverty, development, believe it or not, everything is just amazing. Those people always like to imagine that the CCP has repeatedly persecuted all Tibetans, which is ridiculous. Come on, come to Tibet, come to your homeland and see for yourself.
