Army truly is something else! I'm looking forward to learning more about this fandom step by step. I especially love the charitable side of army as well the support they seem to be giving each other through forming online communities and educating and helping each other out. And also just the fact that BTS brings people with all kinds of different backgrounds and cultures together to stand united. 💜

ARMY are not fanatics or aggressive it’s just that there are lots of us. If you criticise other artists you might get max 100 ppl commenting but with ARMY you might get thousands of replies because ARMY are connected and from an individual ARMY perspective it’s their own opinion but when thousands of ppl telling you their opinions then you might feel attacked even though most ARMY are just act as individual. Yes it’s all true we have social activities online and meet-ups we even have our own book club discussing books that related to bts storyline or books that RM recommends

I am amazed at how BTS and the internet created a non military, non violent, international ARMY that is united by music and positivity, not divided by age, gender, race, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation. People united because they enjoy great music and love 7 amazingly talented artists and performers, BTS are very hard working young men and together with their fans they try to make themselves and the world a better place 💜💜💜 So many stereotypes about both idols and fans do not apply to BTS and Army 🙂 Very inspiring! I'm so glad I found BTS last september and that you found them too, really enjoying your reaction videos, thank you

I think the "Army is fanatic and vile" thing simply comes from the "1% rule". There are bad apples in every basket and BTS has at least 50M fans. 32M followers just on twitter and even if many of them are active on other social media as well, there are still many fans using only instagram, facebook, etc. If a comment attracts only the worst 0.1% of our fandom, that's still 50K people jumping against your throat and unfortunately that 0.1% gives a bad reputation to the whole fandom.

Speaking of the stereotypes of males and females being fans of something. I can really relate to this, and we are talking about sports here, not even music. I am a HUGE Formula 1 fan. And as for the men is ok to reorganize their schedule, to postpone a date just to watch football. I even had colleagues asking to leave work 1 hour earlier because there is some stupid football match on TV and our boss agreed. But if I want to stay home and watch an F1 race which is only once a week I've heard many times "Oh, why are you watching it, it is so boring bla bla" or "Are you really not come with us and stay home watching F1???" Like YEAH!!! Why not? This is my passion, and when my dad was alive this was "our thing" we were watching the race together every week. Why for men is ok to be passionate for something but for me is not? And I don't want to even start with the music stereotypes... I live in a country in the Balkans and I just don't like the music that people listen to here. Agh, sorry I got mad while talking about this. But thanks for listening I just needed to share this.

The charity work that BTS ARMY do is something I noticed the Western media doesn't talk about. I don't get why this isn't the MAIN thing talked about. Thank you for taking the time to get to know even ARMY. I think people don't realize how big the portion of this fandom that is just silently enjoying BTS content and message while ignoring all the negativity from other groups or institutions. I think what Halsey said is right in that most of the time the fandom is misrepresented. I cannot count the number of times media outlets have hyped up bad news about army that was done by a small group when you think of it in proportion to the actual size of the fandom. I think any fandom will have toxic people. It's just that ARMY is so huge that maybe that small percentage of toxic people is sizeable if compared to what people would standardly know. Anyways this video shows a lot of what generally ARMY are doing daily. But there are of course times when things aren't all sunshine and daisies so as much as I want to welcome you I also want to warn you that your heart should be ready because like all in the world, there is balance. The amazing amount of Love generated by BTS and ARMY sadly also has a sizeable amount of hate and negativity both directed at BTS and Army or sadly sometimes within (toxic people) I also have to warn you to be ready because the amount of hate BTS has been receiving makes you sometimes loose hope for the good in some people. A lot at first I didn't believe until I experienced it myself and it's really so frustrating to encounter individuals who are so hateful and their reasoning being something I personally don't think warrants the level of hate they discharge. But I think before you embark on ARMY social media, I suggest you take as much time as you need to get to know the guys and their body of work. Absorb their music and messages, learn their individual personalities and struggles through the shows like Run BTS, Bon Voyage, BTS in the soop, of the documentary videos like Burn the stage. All those. ARMY is a family but what brings us together is our love for all these guys. That love for BTS makes ARMY unshakeable. Personally I will forever be grateful to BTS. They helped me help myself. They helped me save my life. And this feeling is what helps so many different people come and stay together as ARMY. It sounds heavy but I think it'll help you understand why ARMY can be both the kindest people as well as the most defensive of BTS refusing to back down from a fight if need be. Anyways. I'm sorry this is long but I hope you hold on to the magic of the moment longer. Enjoy yourself with all the BTS music before diving into ARMY community. Can I recommend an old Bside called Paradise. I love this song especially for the lyrics. Othe amazing song are Whalien and 134340. I also recommend Love maze, Answer:Love myself. Goodness there really are A LOT you can still watch. If you do Magic shop, I recommend the Live version. Anyways enjoy the journey!!! Thanks for sharing your reactions with us.

Since the beginning if i comment on something i was always met with harsh and ugly responses from Army and i stopped interacting. yeah we get a bad rep because we don't put up with bullshit 😭 and there's so many of us. so if you say something racist towards the boys or something misogynistic towards us, you're gonna get absolutely hammered by thousands of people who are very angry. and for example we've had a lot of bad run ins with talk show hosts and youtubers and those people have sponsors. if they say something racist and won't back down, we will absolutely go to their sponsors. and that's our bad rep: that we draw a hard line when it comes to stuff like that. we just do not put up with it and we don't feel bad about that at all.

You may know this by now (seeing as this video is 2 months old 😂) but K-pop fans buy the physical albums bc they put so much content + effort into them. Posters, pictures, individual members photo cards, stickers, etc. The appeal for physical albums is very high in the whole industry, so that’s why ARMY will always put up huge numbers for physical album sales. Plus BTS tends to do different versions of their albums with different concepts so our “rich” and “collector” ARMYs always make sure to get as many versions as they can 😂😂 In the end tho, we really just want to support BTS and help them be as successful as they can be. Luckily for us, doing so gives us presents/gifts in return 😂💜

I think the argument that people can’t enjoy music they don’t understand doesn’t have a sound base. In Europe, although equally as problematic as the US in many ways, has a lot of hot songs from different countries that chart in multiple different countries. I bet any European can come up with multiple summer hits etc that are in a language that they can’t understand. Or then Eurovision songs, for example, show that the language often isn’t the most important part when it comes to the popularity of a song.

So, in regards to radio plays, while i wish they didn't play them just because of reasons like "idk if anyone will listen to this". After years of being an ARMY, & a lot of research into the industry & some things we've been told by industry insiders...no, they don't play them just because they're not sure if anyone locally will listen to them. They in fact have several ways to gauge almost down to specifics how many people in their area wants to hear their music. They still won't play it because the higher ups in the industry have specifically told them not to. Any radio station that counts for charting has to follow orders on who to play or not. If BTS payed industry insiders $, or did some of the ridiculous things they request them to do, they could get more radio spins. However BTS & Bighit won't do that, & it's pissed people in the industry off & made them hate them more than they already did. So much so to the point that they were fully blacklisted on radio in early 2020 here & are still blacklisted other than for a few places because they wouldn't play puppet to certain industry insiders. There is a TON of data to prove they are in high demand all throughout the United States. That unfortunately doesn't matter to the industry unless they get paid off to care.

From your accent, I believe you are British. I think BTS have found acceptance on the charts more in the U.S. than they have in Britain. There is just more criticism of the U.S. Some fans critizice people in the U.S. preferring songs in English. However, for years K-pop acts have made albums in Japanese and Chinese because they prefer their languages. I don't care what language they sing in, but I get tired of the hypocrisy of some fans when they criticise the U.S.
@YouandMe14

Hi Sue. First of all, I'm so sorry if what I said offended you, that really wasn't my intention. I know that there are as many open and accepting people in the U.S. as in any country and wasn't talking about the American citizens or American Army, just about the music industry. I just feel that as a foreign artist it's difficult to find a way in, but maybe you're right and that's the case in every country, and people only notice it in the case of America because it's the biggest music industry. So in summary, I'll try to be more careful with generalisations and am sorry if you felt attacked. (oh, also, I'm actually German 😊)
@puzzywoo
@puzzywoo 3 жыл бұрын
@@YouandMe14 You're German?! I'm British and assumed you were British too! Anyway, I was thinking the same thing as Sue when I was watching (assuming you were British) that BTS get way more attention from the media and award shows etc. in the US than they do in the UK where they're basically completely ignored. I'm not sure what it's like in Germany but in the UK you really only ever hear American or British bands. It's extremely rare to hear anything in a foreign language. I think the local language is always going to dominate unless there isn't much of an industry. If you look at the case of Japan and Korea, both had charts dominated by English language music until they built a successful music industry in their own country and now Western artists struggle to have hits there. Anyway, not criticising your comments, just adding to the conversation. I enjoyed your reaction.
