Had a neighbor growing up as a kid who was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, a former Army Ranger. He had a gut and walked with a cane and there was story that he was chilling at a cafe eating a sandwich outdoors when some pervert starting sexually harrassing some women. He told the man to back-off, he told the Vet to fuck-off, and he stood up, hopped on one leg and decked the guy, knocking him out cold. He went back to eating his sandwich. The man had a record for sex offences, incl. rape. The cops refuse to arrest the Vietnam veteran when they learned of his decorations which incl. Purple Heart. Other patrons paid for his meal. I was not there but boy did I hear about it from others. I did attend his funeral years later and saw pics of him in his uniform when he was a young, handsome and fit soildier and it got me thinking about how regardless of how old we get, that young person is still inside us somewhere.

Everybody had good intentions but the proper reaction is to call the police right away, they would arrest the man and charge him with attempted kidnapping or child luring at a minimum. Scaring him away has no consequeneces for creeps.

So with my son. We had passwords. If someone was picking him up. He would ask them for the password. If they got it wrong. He won’t go with them. Once someone uses the password. We would change it. I also gave him his own cheap phone at a young age cause I was working with a tracker on it any new building or area he walked into. The app would let me know.
