Young Farmer Harvests His First Crop!

Spencer got to harvest his first crop this year! We hauled the combine up 90 miles to harvest his farm and the neighbor's farm! I was fortunate enough to purchase the neighbor's farm, so next year, we'll be clearing the fence line and farming them as one. Spencer's crop ended up doing good for the conditions he had to work with this Spring. He did a lot of tree clearing this spring, and disking down of CRP before planting corn in late May. Who else loves the 4640? We have a 81 4640 but it ain't hardly big enough anymore because we're 12 row but I do love bush hogging with it. I also like them because there aren't as many of them as say a 4840 or 4630

Buch had me dyin when he was happy the lights on the wagons worked lol. I pull a drop deck definitely a lot into route planning for over dimensional loads.

Was just going to recommend if you switch out snapping rolls this summer take a good look at 360 Chainrolls, way better than OEM Deere Knife rolls in my opinion. Super aggressive and can run the head slower because they grab the stalk and rip it right through

Nice video. You should switch to a case cornhead and combine. I ran a case IH combine my entire life. last year I helped a guy with the Deere combine. I never want to work or switch crops on a John Deere combine ever again.

Probably, I also have been wondering if their will be john deere and the fact that deere is one of if not the biggest farming brand in the world(probably) and John deere is a brand you'll see in more than 50% of American farms it would make sense.

The only advice I have for the corn head issue is that it would be a very good idea to look into a Olimac Drago corn header! Those corn heads are built tougher than any corn head I’ve ever seen! And also the deck plates are self adjusting. We’ve had one since 2006 and the stalk rolls are still sharp today!

@@granthilbert5632 quick question for you over beef cattle in the help menu. In the top right it says that max weight is 1400 ibs. But then if you scroll down to number 4. It says that the max weight is 1500 ibs. Which one of those would be the correct one because I may not be selling them at the proper time

Yes! Does both secondary tillage and applies Nitrogen.

One day grant and his brother will put out a video within 30 days of filming. Most other farming channels are into winter work. Yours is still in the fall. We’ve all forgotten about harvest by now.
