In a tense and suspenseful scene from the Western classic Young Guns, Billy the Kid, portrayed by Emilio Estevez, and his loyal companions find themselves eavesdropping on a conversation that takes a dangerous turn. As they listen in, they hear a man brazenly discussing his plans to kill the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid. Intrigued and ever-fearless, Billy decides to confront the man directly, engaging him in a game of cat-and-mouse as he casually questions him about his murderous intentions. The unsuspecting man, unaware that he is face-to-face with the very legend he seeks to kill, unwittingly reveals his plans to Billy, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown.

Young Guns is a fictionalized account of the early years of Billy the Kid and his involvement in the Lincoln County War of 1878. The film follows Billy, a young gunslinger taken under the wing of rancher John Tunstall, played by Terence Stamp. When Tunstall is murdered by corrupt lawmen and business rivals, Billy and his fellow ranch hands, known as the "Regulators," seek justice and revenge. Among the Regulators are Doc Scurlock (Kiefer Sutherland), Jose Chavez y Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips), and Dick Brewer (Charlie Sheen), each with their own unique skills and personalities. As the conflict escalates and the body count rises, Billy and his friends find themselves on the run from the law and facing increasing danger at every turn. With its mix of historical figures and creative license, Young Guns is a thrilling and action-packed Western that explores the legend of Billy the Kid and the bonds of friendship and loyalty in the face of adversity.

Good Hollywood representation maybe. Henry McCarty was an ugly ass man with zero education. What the movie got right was, McCarty was short at 5'-7" and he wasn't dominant left-handed. Notice Emilio shot the dude with his right hand. Estevez was 26yrs old when this movie was made, McCarty was maybe 19-20 when he killed his 5th out of 8 men total. McCarty was dead by age 21. Fortunately Estevez looked young for his age.

He did not because as good as it was, it was not accurate and that is one of the things that is judged. Young Guns is just using the historical characters for a very fictional take on history. Tom Blyth does an "accurate" Billy in the fictional historical take on Billy where they try to portray their fiction in an accurate setting. Both are great, for different reasons.

@@chewy1568 There is also next to no writing about Maximus Decimus Meridius, he is merely mentioned as having been a senator and general thus making any portrayal of him open to interpretation. Do you know why no one has Henry Fonda at the top of their list for best portrayal of Abraham Lincoln? Because, he was horrible . Did not look, act or sound like descriptions of him. Daniel-Day Lewis won best actor for it, Sam Waterson a Tony and Walter Huston's performance from 1930 is still referred to for its historical accuracy and performance...for the very reason of my point. You win awards based on many merits and accuracy is important if anything is known about the character. You can put on a great performance like in Young Guns, but more people are going to flock to a more accurate story and performance and this is why the Billy The Kid series has 2 awards (lead performance and cinematography) and 6 nominations and is getting a 3rd season while Young Guns only won a...western heritage award...and who has ever even heard of that? The point is, there is good and then there is good for more reasons. Young Guns was a good film...Tombstone was a GREAT film because of its historical accuracy and accurate performances. Its OK. You can accept this. No one is saying it was a bad performance...jesus, the triggering is real.

Usually these guys would walk into talk and on reputation alone would get tips of people looking to get into their favour. Billy on the other hand was totally immersed and loved by the Mexican community and nobody was going to run up and taddle on him for anyone let alone an outsider. This scene played out pretty much how it happened here, except over a game of cards.
