I use solar panels, lithium batteries, water pumps, refrigeration, propane for cooking/water heating, I watch TV/movies, scroll YT. I have manual backups for every necessity, but I know how much more productive I can be on my homestead by using a few of the spoils of Babylon. Modern homesteading is the only way for a peaceful or violent revolution to be successful, people will need to eat one way or another.

They’d do it without hesitation, given the current brass and training. The Marine Corps may be the outlier though.

I think what a lot of older people (and younger people too) with means are doing is moving to rural areas and setting up a family compound type of setup. My father in law has made a sustainable homestead while doing a work from home high paying tech security job. People are tired of increasing HOA fees, increasing taxes, increasing car payments, insurance payments, all of it. Also, they don’t trust the stability of the system anymore. So pretty much he’s wanting his whole immediate family (he has two daughters and two son in laws) to come and raise their families there. He’s raising us to be strong and self-reliant, capable of fixing things with our hands and capable with weapons. I think he’s really seen into the future. Now I don’t know if it’s all going to collapse but he’s definitely chosen the secure option

No, it's been the same. The left (in the US it's left side) has ALWAYS been the wealthiest, most "educated" people like Woodrow Wilson using identity politics and "scientific knowledge" to divide people so they can pass stupid feel-good policies through that are popular until they run out of other people's money. In the 1800s it was the slave owners who were "scientific" with their new knowledge of how evolution justifies racism so they can simply steal the money of the people who do the work. In the 1900s it was the workers using the "scientific" knowledge of Marxism to improve capitalism, literally just stealing the money from the people who built factories and invented things in favor of unions who do nothing but play politics. 61 here. Well said brother. I carried their torch because society told me to be a hero one must left up others to include women and minorities. A Vet of 20 yrs 81-01. I saw the whole transition and somewhere around my 15-16 year mark in the Navy, I asked myself, why I was saying this, or doing that for people I don't know and were not even in the room. I realized that I had been sorted brainwashed by TV, Movies, Pols and MSM to act in this manner, anything else was being not fit to be considered a human. That was the turning point and plus my Christian values I realized were being contorted and used against me to get me to act in a certain way which was actually contrary to what the bible says. I also always voted conservative i.e. Reagan years onward. So there was this cognitive dissonance going on and which I finally broke free of after I retired and listened to strong conservatives who understand this mental trip that the Left so cleverly lays on (white) men and then shifted evermore to white women who they used up as well hence the knew punching bag of the multiculture (Karens). What has happened to us was over a great period of most of my life/our lives spanning 40-50 years easily. Staunchly 1st and 2nd A, always have been. Common sense, one man, one woman is a marriage. The nuclear family is the key building block etc. All these have been under attack by the crazies.
