2 things happened in the 1960's: The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix! I saw Jimi May 8, 1970 at The old Sooner Fieldhouse in Norman Oklahoma. It was the Concert I could not miss!! He played 2 shows that night, I was there for both!!! I'm a white boy, and I cried like a Baby the day he died! Still wonder what he would have achieved had he not passed so young.......... I have that Concert on CD. A Friend recorded it on a Cassette so, I listen to every now and then...

Hendrix is a Rock and Roll God. Still on the throne, after all these years. No shredder can de-throne him. He played the guitar like it was part of him. To me this was the greatest cover-version of a rock song, of all time.

I was part of the Woodstock generation. Personally I believe this is his absolute best song since he plays so many styles on this one song. His voice also worked well on this song, as well as “Hey Joe” and others.

greatest electric guitar player ever, killer voice, great song writer (though this is a Dylan song), Jimi Hendrix is in the pantheon of guitar gods, the John Coltrane of rock music, a visionary who died too young.

Your reactions are great, it’s nice to see young people appreciate old music. If you have time I would really like to see you react to....Soul sacrifice.... live at Woodstock 1969. I was there with my dad, uncle and cousin at the time I was 13. I also saw jimmy Hendricks he was the last performance, good memories. Appreciate your consideration..thanks

Glad you are taking time to listen to some of the real greats of Rock n Roll. There's a documentary about Jimmy and it has one of the greatest stories I ever heard. Jimmy was spotted to open for The Rolling Stones. The Stones at the time were huge like the Beetles huge. Jimmy went to Mick Jagged (the Stones lead singer) and said you all should go out first cause you don't want to follow me. Mick laughed. Jimmy went out and absolutely destroyed. The Stones watched the performance and refused to go on stage

@halhansen778 0 seconds ago One of his biographies had him playing at breakfast with a bunch of people, but just listening to the conversations (and the electric guitar not plugged makes no noise), him trying to re-create their conversation moods flows rythyms, in real time. I think that’s how he learned to make the guitar feel like it’s talking.

This cover of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower was sanctified by Dylan as The Version - he basically handed the song over to Jimi when he heard it for the first time. Dylan was an inspiration to Hendrix - between his song writing and his "terrible" voice - Jimi hated his own voice but figured if Dylan could get away with singing, maybe he could too . . . both of them are icons in music and particularly in songwriting (albeit Dylan will forever be # 1 in that category - won a nobel prize for his lyricism to seal that, too, btw). Loved the reaction - love watching you young guys discover the talent, insight and courage of these artists (check out Dylan's Masters of War, The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll, Hurricane) to see some of that courage. Enjoy the journey - it's well worth it.

@TheTaconator69er
@TheTaconator69er 7 ай бұрын
Jimi, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison started the 27 club, those 3 were at the top in popularity & Fame when they died and they died pretty close to each other in time. Jimi, died Sept 18, 1970, Janis Joplin, died Oct 4, 1970, Jim Morrison died July 3, 1971. Everyone else who has died at that age has become a member since then. I believe there was a feeling among the fans, that it seemed suspicious that Jimi, Janis and Jim happened to die when they did. Like it wasn't natural. There was a 'Vibe' among us fans, and it had nothing to do with their age.... the number was just coincidental. I think in each case, we were all sort of suspicious of the fact that they suddenly died and we knew they were hated by The Establishment.

Jimi is the greatest😂As a white french guy, i worked as a roadie, on a lot of great concerts in France, and i saw à lot of great bands: PINK FLOYD, ROLLING STONES, CLAPTON, DIRE STRAITS, SANTANA, DEEP PURPLE, AC/DC, BEN HARPER, ETC.....😂I'm 43 years old, so i was too young to see my 2 favourites: Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Led Zeppelin! But, with all my experiences, and after 30 years i'm playing guitar, everyday, i can tell you this: JIMI HENDRIX IS THE GREATEST GUITARIST OF ALL TIME, AND, ONE OF THE 5 GREATEST MUSICIAN, COMPOSER, IN HUMAN HISTORY, LIKE MOZART, CHOPIN, BEETHOVEN, BACH, OR JIMMY PAGE.....THEY'RE NOT HUMAN BEINGS😂JIMI was chose by the gods to be THE MUSIC😂Peace from France ✌️
