I think Sheldon has proven time and again he is an unreliable narrator. Even in the preview for the finale he says I was always trying to help people or something like that, and Amy says really! you have tried to help people, not believing him as a helpful person. Even on TBBT the characters were always correcting him and he was always thinking he was doing or being something he wasn't So, the reality of the show versus what Sheldon says in TBBT should not be taken as exact parallels.

@@sahilrana8137 I remember a few times in the TBBT when he said he was delightful and the life of the party. No one else thought that at all lol. So, I think it is safe to say that if young Sheldon is basically him recounting the events of his childhood, it is skewed. The inconsistencies in the TBBT where he discribed George drinking all the time could be all the beer we see George drinking in the show and Sheldon amplifing it in his mind perhaps even demonizing the drink as contributing to the heart attack that killed George. It might be his way of coping with the death seeing his father as worse than he was to cope with the tragedy of the young death.

Sheldon might have an eidetic memory but has biases which can effect memory and him with his autistic tendencies tends him to either be quite black and white
