It's surreal how this very church that she's singing in..is the one her funeral was held in. This was her family's church. Her casket was on display literally steps from where she's singing in this video. Rest in everlasting peace, beautiful Whitney.

Growing up in church, I don't see it as eerie or surreal but being who she is, I can see it that way. The Pastor dies, his casket lies right in front of the pulpit. The lead soloist dies, his/her casket lies just a few steps from where they sang. It's normal to many!

Whitney made her church solo debut at age 11. Whitney's father once said (about that first solo) that while he knew that Cissy had been working with Whitney, he was amazed because even though she was a child, she sang with an adult voice. I've heard/read similar things about Judy Garland and other natural born singers/talents.
@mariahyohannes Жыл бұрын
Her father must haven't been around as much as they make it seem. He said on several occasions he didn't know his daughter could sing as well as she did
@silenceisgold758 Жыл бұрын
@@mariahyohannes He prob wasn't going to church as much. He raised Whitney and the brothers while Cissy was working. That's said in Cissy's book.
@mariahyohannes Жыл бұрын
@@silenceisgold758 I don’t know if that’s true. Because Gary & Michael said they were off dropped from home to home and stayed with many other people when Cissy was working. If John was active as Cissy made it seem I have a hard time believing Gary and Michael would have started doing heroin as young as 10 years old. Those children didn’t have that much supervision.
@nunyabiz36687 ай бұрын
@ mariahyohannes Are you serious? I had no idea they were doing heroin that young. I knew about the cocaine but thats it. Man, they did a great job masking the issues of their home when she stepped on the scene. Thats wild

Judy Garland, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston were definitely child prodigies.
@A-DUB-YA8 жыл бұрын
What a gift, even at that young tender age....God had given her the tools and the blueprint from the start :) Cissy worked passionately and tirelessly to help her little girl hone and develop her God given gift. I am amazed (though I shouldn't be) just how powerful her range was at that age. She sang Have A Little Talk With Jesus here as a child and then sang Jesus Loves Me with Kelly Price before her transition into eternity. She always knew who was at the helm of her life. Through all the good, bad and in between times, she knew Jesus loved her. You can hear through her singing this as a child and all through her life, when she sang of Him, what excitement she received. I miss you, Whitney. When you passed away, it hurt me so deeply, as if I lost a family member or friend of my own. You have been there since I was a child. Your music inspired me and made me happy and carried me through some sad and rough times. Because of you and my own gospel choir training, I learned to develop my own power and range through singing. You are my hero and inspiration. I thank God that you were around during my childhood years to see and hear and take in. God bless your family. God bless your mama Ms. Cissy. God continues to wrap His arms around you and Krissy. You are safe from this crazy, evil world now. Glad you found your Quiet Place :) R.I.P.
