Young Muslims is a pioneering national youth organization that has been on the youth scene since the early 90's. We have established a well organized network of local youth groups that we call NeighborNets (which means network of neighbors) across the United States and Canada. Each NeighborNet is a dynamic youth group which attempts to build a solid understanding of the principles of Islam amongst its members by helping them put these principles into practice. By providing the youth with an Islamic atmosphere where they can form bonds of brotherhood with their peers, they become comfortable with Islam and its teachings. We stress the importance of knowing, understanding, and fulfilling our individual and collective obligations as Muslims.

Me too, though I knew it already,but somehow he made it sounds a whole lot scarier than I ever felt before coz I never see it from that perspective even though I know He owns it. It's like a cover suddenly lifted up of my head and I get to see the once blur picture into a full HD movie and my heart sank to the bottom so hard, it felt like it hit my intestines, my spine chilled and my body tremble in fear of Him. Ya Allah, always make us aware of Your presence and stop us from doing anything You dislike and only doing things that You like and make us aware that anything we " own" in this world though we work hard for it, is Yours being lent to us so we would always feel inferior and humble and scared of You ever getting displeased let alone angry. Aameen

I suffered from sleep loss for the past 3 days. After listening to this lecture and I actively cut out the deed that I was doing, I slept the best I’ve ever slept before. It’s not much but may Allah bless this man for everything he does for he doesn’t know how much it helps.

He stoned a pregnant woman to death for being an unwed mother. This is a filthy belief system. In this video itself Omar Suleiman is talking about murdering fornicators. Are you people nuts?

Great lecture and thank you for telling it like it is - if you fall in love and obsess over someone before marriage and then start stressing about whether your haram relationship will lead to marriage it is entirely your own fault as Allah SWT has directed us (men and women alike) to stay away from these haram behaviours. There is NO 'halal' relationship apart from that decreed by nikah. We get married for the sake of Allah SWT because he has permitted this for us and we can cultivate love within a marriage, there is no need or sinless way to seek it without. We are entitled to nothing in this life, consider anything that Allah SWT gives you as a blessing. Even if you are reading this message realise that Allah SWT has given you eyesight and the capability to understand the English language. Some people are born blind, others without the mental capacity to understand and process speech and words. We are His slaves and we should never forget this.

ASSALAAMOU ALAYKOUM, it may be 5yrs but the point here was and respecting the proper channel ,going through the front door ( parents first,no isolation ,put the correct distance and speech ,dont let it start ,it takes courage specially outmost self restraints. @Carol S worshipping a tyrant? Forgive me but I guess that's what you get for wandering like a free soul as you stated. Being a slave to god is different from being a slave to this world. Might sound a bit odd but please get knowledge on the aspect and comment. I am a practising Muslim and I respect all other religions. That is what my religion has taught me.

@Carol S I acknowledge your efforts in trying to understanding the right and wrong Carol, but at the same time I don't endorse the kind of people you mentioned if true( because I am not aware of them). I didn't tell you that islam is a picnic like fantasy either. Infact Islam itself says that it is an ultimate test in this world. Here-after is the ultimate destination. Also regarding apostacy, no religion has spared it just like that. It contradicts the very basic definition of religion, the faithfulness and belief in one God. I hope you understand my point.

@Carol S I don't understand why you resort to the state of taking for granted that people are always ignorant. I am genuinely unaware of muslims creating no-go zones and stuff. Regarding muslim women, what conditions are you referring to? Poverty, illeteracy? It is the problem faced by the whole society due to the desires of the west and also the Europeans who keep proxy-warring in those countries. Not ruling out the especially worse condition of women. When the whole country is in a ruckus, doesn't make a significant note about women where people are barely surviving. Regarding the mass immigration, what devastation has it caused? People have immigrated legally, so what's rhe problem? Is them being a muslim a problem? The argument has turned baseless now, from the actual religious query to a political garbage.

When you love someone, you become afraid of making him/her angry. Your fear of making him/her angry is caused by your fear of losing his/her love or favour. That's the kind of fear that we're talking in the context of the Creator of the Universe. It is not fear caused by apprehension but rooted deep in affection. It is fear caused by respect and love. Like how a child is scared of his parent when he messed up. Anyway, thanks for trying to understand us - Islam and Muslim. ^_^

Islam doesn't revolve around fear of the creator, it revolves around being conscious of the creator, we have both hope in his forgiveness and his mercy while at the same time having fear for his punishment, this makes sense because if you only knew about God's mercy then you will necessarily be less careless when it comes to sinning, so the fear of punishment is needed so that you create a balance between hope and fear. I hope I brought some clarity to your question.

Mashallah!May Allah make it easier for you.I know from experience how hard it is to break a relationship off when you are in "love" but once you do it for Allah's sake then the pain you will feel initially will be nothing compared to the happiness you will feel after you get over it.There is nothing like being with someone who is accepted by Allah in the right way and the fact that you get rewarded for every moment spent with them is a feeling like no other. May Allah grant you a loving spouse.

Freedom of a wrong path is the worst. The freedom of right path is the greatest. May Allah the most merciful save us from the whispers of devils and make for us the paths clear. May Allah save us from getting lost in the midst of going right. Even I sinned and it comes over and over again. May Allah destroy the illusions and make us see the light which guides. May Allah teach us the path of His Prophets, especially the path of Muhammad (saw). Fornication and adultery comes from forgetting Allah. Those who doubt Allah come to forget Allah, by forgetting one looses faith. May Allah save us from doubts. May Allah weaken the affections of devils and disbelievers. May Allah spread light of guidance and make us comprehensive in the hardest time. May Allah burn the doubts in my heart and your heart to ashes and build the tower of eternal faith.

He ALWAYS addresses that topic when talking in general lectures. Look up the laws of love, the other side, etc. But this was a YOUTH lecture so he focused on them because we cannot give them excuses .

well said, very true. parents plays major role and influence alot into children's life. it is not that we do not want to niqah, some parents make it difficult for us to niqah. may Allah SWT make naseeb to all the single Muslim to niqah and make it easy for us all. Amiin sumaa Amiin.
