@@odinniereece4096 well, there are many missing...who are deserving. like anish, nodirbek, wesley etc. but deserving ones dont get into it, only the ones who perform do. nodirbek upto a great start this year. if he's consistent, im sure we'll see him in 2026.

The candidates is by far my favorite tournament and this year's lineup makes it even better. 8 of the best players really battling for 1st place. The games in the second half of this tournament will be outright war.

Another Great Game Wow both players finding some great moves impressive how Pragg comes up with a great response to Alireza’s attack and vice versa certainly wasn’t a dull draw but I’m waiting to see some victories from someone really hope that happens tomorrow Thanks for the Game Agadmator

Its wild that the engine initially thought Knight takes still kept the advantage but it slowly evened out to a draw evaluation bcos of the brilliant move that pragg found as well

Yes. There were key moves where players took like 20 minutes. This video fails to capture that time pressure.

I agree that they should eliminate time increments before move 40. We already have rapid and blitz style chess. All the more reason to eliminate time pressures in "classical."

This is what I call chess. A very enjoyable draw, where both players wanted to win but played precisely in defense so they made it difficult for each other. A true candidates beautiful game

Thats insane finding those moves, imagine how concentrated you have to be to calculate and stay focused under pressure,one slight mistake and you're losing 😬😬😬 and then they make a crazy move which saves them from losing, just incredible 🙂

I do think that Reg2 was quite an easy and instinctive move to find - the key points in the position being that the Rg4 is en prise, you must keep defending h2 & the black queen has left the defence of g7 - and Reg2 connects all 3 things...it was my first instinct while watching live (and no, no engine was visible!).
