My cousin and I were drunk walking around Austin and stumbled into an outdoor bar that happened to be hosting a free comedy show. This dude was headlining, and absolutely crushed. Such a wonderful drunken surprise.

I took my sister to a punk show. The venue had 2 sides to it. I was trying to find a restroom and walked into him doing a bit I recognized. Awesome surprise.

I took a standup class where the teacher told us “if you can’t be funny, be interesting.” I love Matthew’s medical/science material because it’s funny, but you also learn things you probably didn’t know. The whole pedantic album is really worth a listen if you like his material.

He actually sells adorable and harmless side of comedy without sounding dumb and his material is refreshingly fun with a perspective that hasn't already been done a million times. Every time I see this guy’s standup I just think about how good of a job his mom did raising him. Good job, Dr. Mom! Oh, great set btw. I loved all the medical humor, I loved the shameless pandering to women (it works!, I’m pandered) and I really loved the switcheroo at the end. A good looking cis het white man out here doing god’s work when he could easily get away with doing the bare minimum. He _should_ do a symposium
