While stuck at home during this pandemic, we've found plants and gardening to be an unexpected source of relief. What exactly is going on in our brains when we spend time in the company of plants? We look into the science behind how plants can reduce stress and anxiety and help us feel connected to the outside world.

Yup. Ever since I started gardening , every morning first thing I do ,before heading out, check all my plants. Then in the evening I look forward to see them again. I can’t explain it.

Since the pandemic started and we’ve been stuck at home, also because I live with Agoraphobia and Panic Disorder I’ve started getting more plants both in my home and outside. It has really helped, also gives me something to do. Thank you for sharing this.

Anyone reading, see if you can get your hands in a jewelry loupe. Really see plants and other things up close while you’re on the go or at home

Gardening is good because it keeps you grounded. As human beings we need the earth we need to feel connected we need to feeel the earth with our hands and feet. I garden bare feet and no gloves. It makes me grounded literally and helps me with my inflammation and chronic pain. It has made a huge difference in my life. Take off the gloves and do it bare feet u will thank me :)

I love plants and growing them. I study horticulture in college and the greenhouse is my second home. Being in the company of plants definitely helps my stress levels, anxiety levels and calm and soothes me. From one plant lover to another.🌿🌿

This makes so much sense! Thank you so much for this video, I actually did start a garden this quarantine and just did a video on it! I love watching my garden grow and being out in it even if I were to not get much production from it. Definitely cultivating awe and going to work on cultivating more awe when I can! Love this, so agree on being a part of something bigger 💚🌱

Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering. Saint Augustine of Hippo

I'm new to gardening. I tried to grow mint from some cuttings and it died.... I think I overwatered it. I'm going to try again as I loved seeing the process of going from this tiny cutting to a full plant with roots.... I was in awe and it made me happy. Nature is pretty amazing.
