Regarding transport from the Airport, we bought a 72 hour Budapest travelcard. It is not valid on the direct bus 100e in the city centre, but is valid on the 200e bus to Kobanya Kipest where you change to the M3 metro service that is free also on your travelcard. Both buses frequent, most of the day and easily accessible outside the airport.

I took a freelancer cab by mistake. He wanted 14.000 forint for a 5min cab drive. I drove 12 taxis on my trip, all of them less than 4500 forint. I told him that, also told him to get the price down or I would just leave the cab without paying anything. Didn’t realize he was a freelancer. He said something about him not being a Uber driver like the other ones I used(which was not Uber, it was bolt) however, I got him down to 8000, paid him and told him to F off on the way out😂 totally ruined my night, just had the best evening cruise on the Danube. But yea, use Bolt, they are the best

Thanks for sharing your story! Indeed it's a pitty that we still have this burden... luckily with companies and having apps to have proof of travel things are better these days, it's just those pesky "freelancer"s causing the negative experiences... but I hope other than that, you still had a good time in the city overall :)

Hey there! You can check the formula 1 hungarian gp website few weeks before the race usually then they list ways of getting to the circuit (there are always special services operated for getting to and from the track). August is one of the hottest months, but sometimes a storm comes and goes (which results in some good races at times 😃). Other then these notes, just enjoy the city, and perhaps if you are here for a week, go to the Countryside, maybe to Szentendre for a day or if you care to travel a bit further then visit Lake Balaton for a chill time 😊

Hey! Thank you for being so helpful! I have a question for you. If I buy a 24-hour or 72-hour travel pass, should I always verify the ticket (for example, on the app with the QR code or the printed copy)? Thanks in advance!
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 10 ай бұрын
Hey there, if you have a pass you only need to scan the QR code if a bus is Front boarding, so you need to show your pass basically to the driver but mostly it's buses in the outskirts where this is needed, in the inner city it will be board wherever you want, no need to scan. In all other cases, only if the BKK ticket validator folks ask for your pass that's when you need to bring up the "show for control" part in the app. Have a nice stay 😊

Hello there! 8-9 days in Budapest only may indeed be a bit long but there are many places you can easily reach from here and have some great daytrips: Szentendre is one of the easiest ones to reach or Gödöllő with the Sissy Palace. Places like Visegrád, Esztergom or a bit further to Eger, Győr, Székesfehérvár. The Buda mountains have a lot of nice areas to hike. I can go on for hours, but if you look at our playlist for "Around Hungary" you may get some ideas :)

Hi, I just discovered your page, thank you for this video. I was wondering If Budapest Pass is for 1 person or if I can use it for more than 1 person at the same time. what would you suggest I to get for a transportation pass, we are 4 ppl, staying only for 3 days! Thank you
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 11 ай бұрын
If you mean the Budapest Card, that's for a single person as it also applies as a public transport pass. It's only worth it if you visit a lot of museums and attractions. Honestly the regular public transport pass is better (BKK is the transportation company here). Regarding the passes, for 3 days most likely the 72 hours pass is best if you use public transport on average 5 times daily. So if this is the best or single tickets depends on how often you use public transport and how much you walk instead. Just note that the passes do not cover the airport special service bus that needs a separate ticket. And yep, each individual needs a separate pass 😊

In the bars in the downtown like in the ruin bars, people are generally pretty chill, so people can go alone if they want to. Perhaps if someone is dressed in a very revealing way that may attract attention of some drunk guys, but I think that's unfortunately everywhere in the world.

Just stumbled upon your channel!! We are visiting Budapest in July this year with our 8 year old child!! And recommendations?? Also how drone friendly is the city?
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures Ай бұрын
Hey there! Drones are regulated, depending on the weight of the drone it may need to be registered and flight areas need to be booked (anything abote 120 grams). If you search for Drone laws in Hungary the article on legter.hu gives a good overview. For children I believe Margaret Island can be a fun place (you can rent a buggy and cycle around together the island there are even some playgrounds and a nice beach as well with pools and slides). Városliget city park can also be fun, there is the balloon ride, the city zoo and also a large playground, during the summer you can do family boatrides on the lake next to the Heroes Square :) Normafa is a nice area in the Buda mountains where there is a large playground and opportunity to hike in the woods and visit a lookout spot (Elisabeth lookout tower). I hope you'll have a lot of fun here :)

@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 10 ай бұрын
Hey there! Bolt is probably the most convenient. No need to pay directly to driver, the app on the phone takes the money from your card (if you have it added) and can easily use to hail a cab. Though if you come from the airport, there is a Főtaxi kiosk there which is perfectly fine to get to the city and your hotel, but from that point possibly Bolt is the best option 😊

@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 7 ай бұрын
Hey there! Honestly all 3 carriers are good enough in terms of coverage and quality if you explore Budapest. There is a Yettel stand right at the airport and they offer tourist specific short term usage deals, but you can also visit a Telekom or Vodafone store in the city, or another Yettel branch. There you may get better deals depending on your requirements. Just note that you'll need to show ID in order to get a deal with them and a sim card. Either go with the Yettel offers at airport or check which brand has a store closest to your hotel 😊

I have a question Whats the best place for parties or clubbing or even concerts in Budapest from 16th to 19th April ? Please guide
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 2 ай бұрын
Hey there! Regarding concerts my go to places are usually A38 ship or Aquarium Hall. Other places like Analog Music Hall, Dürer Kert or Barba Negra are found a bit further out of the city, and Budapest Park is also a great place but it only opens at the very end of April I believe. For clubbing the general go to place for most is Instant but it can get a bit crowded or there is Morrison's 2. In all honesty, my days of clubbing are a bit behind, so I am not too deep into that scene these days :)

The temperatures for the pools varies, there are different kinds in each bathhouse. However the official websites show the following response to a related question: "The services of Dandár and Rudas Baths can not be used under 14 years. The water of the other baths is not recommended under the age of 14, either. In case parents insist to come with a baby, he/she can enter the pools only if toilet-trained." - Hope this helps 😊
