Redmond, McCarthy and Pierre are all great players... yes it was a down grade compared to Wanyama, Mane and Pelle but Pelle’s career is ruined in China, Wanyama is a victim of spurs and Mane is second fiddle to Salah. Also the worst transfer season was 2012 when we sold Lambert, Lallana, Lovren and Rodríguez (last three to Liverpool). We sold the best threesome in the PL (Lambert, lallana and Rodríguez) and where did the money go??? *I don’t f*cking know?!? Down the Swiss couch last time I heard*... we are better than a selling club- we should be a Europa club with the greatest academy talent other than Ajax and good competitive players... but... no... *Come on Ralph- give us some hope!*

liverpool are a completely different team now vs 2009 and 2014 - they can take the high ground in transfers, arent seen as a stepping stone anymore, have one of the best managers in the world, and probably most importantly just won the champions league

Arsenal 2011 is a decent window, got Ox(who we sold for profit), decent players in Arteta and Per(both went on to be our captain). That's almost 50% success rate. Think summer 2016 was much much more shambolic.

Harry Jefferson I get that, but given what happened with the benefit of hindsight, surely 2011 or 2012 was worse? Signed Roger Johnson and made him captain, his career rapidly went downhill and Wolves went down. Following season signed a handful of players nobody had heard of, combined with a group who'd lost the motivation since Mick McCarthy left, and ended up in League One.

Walkerman404 if the focus is on how well we did at the end of the season, the 2011/12 and 2012/13 were equally as bad(in my opinion) but the 2012/13 summer window when we brought in Sako was good for us. Mahrez to city was originally brilliant for city, but terrible after, so it depends when you look at it at what time

January 2017 may have been bad for west ham, but summer 2016 was just as terrible. Nordveit, feghouli, zaza, tore etc. Most of the players who came in for that transfer window were nowhere the bench by the end of the season, let alone the first 11. At least snodgrass eventually became better

At forest the worst transfer window has to be summer 2011 when we signed George Boeteng jonathan greening, ishmael miller and matt derbyshire even though we bought andy reid back who was a great player but spent too long in the treatment room while selling robert earnshaw as well releasing nathan tyson and kelvin wilson

Gonna say January 2015 for the amount of time we took to look for Pardew's replacement only for it to be his assistant who then made him look like prime Mourinho whilst we signed no'one. Could also have went with summer 2013 when we only got one player in on loan from a relegated side, January 2014 when we sold Cabaye for £27m (didn't get a good replacement until Shelvey two years later) and only brought in Luuk De Jong on loan or summer 2012 when we signed one first team player despite extra games in Europe that season.

2011 wasn't Arsenal's worst window at all. Arteta and Per were great servants at the club, Per even staying as a youth coach. Gervinho was also excellent at Lille so it was worth the attempt at least. 2015 was our worst summer window in recent years. 1 signing. 33 y/o Petr Cech for £12m

Well, Liverpool finished 2nd like 2014 and 2009 but don't forget they also won the Champions League which they did not do in 2014 or 2009, so our transfer window will not be disastrous again this time.

Not a Chelsea fan but the 2015 transfer window should've been at least been given an mention. Pedro has been pretty good but everyone else was completely terrible. You've got Falcao, Pato, Kenedy, Djilobodji, Begovic, Baba Rahman for 14 godamn million?! They also sold players who would go on to succeed elsewhere like Felipe Luis and Thorgan Hazard while effectively ending the Chelsea careers of Juan Cuadrado and Mo Salah.

Nah. Our worst was summer of 2015. We needed a striker and the only player we bought was Cech. Then in January 2016 we bought Elneny. We finished 2nd that season.
