ABOUT LISA:
Lisa is arguably the happiest music teacher on the planet. We can’t prove it, but we’d be willing to bet on it. With a background in classical and contemporary vocal training and a love for popular music, Lisa Witt focuses on helping her students uncover their own, unique sound and develop their voice with simple routines and tips for faster results. Her personal singing journey started filled with intimidation and fear about “singing out loud”. Lisa’s desire to find confidence led her to discover HOW her voice works (physically) and gained newfound confidence and passion to perform in her discoveries that she now shares in her lessons. Lisa is a singer-songwriter who values singing as a therapeutic release for communicating harder emotions.

Well after a life ime of people telling me I can't sing and I'm tone deaf (and yes I believe them, they can't all be wrong!) I wondered if I could learn, so here I am.. Interesting video, I'm in my living room on my own laughing my socks off because I can't do the bubble exercise! LOL!!! Recorded myself singing You Are My Sunshine... Nasty!!! LOL! But I'll keep praticing, if nothing else at least the Bubble exercise made me laugh!

Lisa this is a fantastic video, thank you for the content and for the energy and passion you bring to it, you're very engaging :) Could you do something covering Country music, like Cash or Jimmy Buffett? I find belting notes out fairly easy, but country feels more like talking with conscious pitch control and i really struggle with that - any tips would be appreciated! :)

Hey Kevin! So glad you liked the video!!! I love what I do :) I am a Johnny Cash fan! That old style country does use a more laid back approach. My advice is to try speaking the words at first! It might seem strange but it will help you to connect with the words and phrasing- from there you can move to singing and see how that feels. There will be moments where the melody in the original recording seems less like a melody and more "spoken". Don't bother with trying to imitate that until you can get the speaking, then singing sorted first. THEN you can stylize :)

thanks so much! What about support from the abd, pelvic floor etc? I am not sure how to use well all thoses muscles ! I am too often singing (and talking) from my throat... Really bad habit i know! thanks

I think it helps to lick my lips. When they feel dry can't do the bubble😊

I learnt that to blow the bubbles you need a lot of breath and wet lips. Takes a while to get it…

Are there any of your videos explaining how to breathe from your diaphram?? Just discovered your videos and having so much fun. Know I have an awful singing voice which breaks dreadfully, but sooo want to sing - want to sing praise without being embarrassed! Love what you do. You are a Godsend. PS: Is blowing bubbles suposed to tickle so much? 😂❤
