It's finally time to take Mrs. Gripshover's Avon lipstick order. 💄 Oh, and now we're on a first-name basis!
In this video, you'll hear lots of nostalgic sounds, from the heavy plastic compartments of my Beauty Showcase, to the delicate sounds of tiny cardboard boxes, to the clicks and clacks of lipstick tubes and lids. I also leaf through my Avon Beauty Book and demonstrate how to apply lipstick using a lip brush. Soft-spoken voice throughout.

Exactly … great ASMR by Ms. Wiest. Totally agree that her Avon application scenes are wonderful ASMR. The hand motions along with her soothing voice as she says, “blend” are the bomb! 👍🏻👏🏻☺️

This might be the best comment ever, Rachel!! 🤭✨ - hilarious and awesome at the same time. Some props I already had bc my house is an MCM time capsule. But since starting my channel I’ve acquired more unusual things from thrift shops, estate sales, etc. Etsy is a gold mine for vintage makeup, especially Avon. 💚💚

I just found these. They're so nostalgic to me because my mother was an Avon lady for a short time in the late 60s. She went on to sell Fuller Brush if anyone remembers that. The vintage props seem like they were around almost yesterday.

@Mid Mod Meridian ASMR I don't recall ever seeing them there. She had one of those trays with a mirror covering the surface and gold-plated filigree sides, on her dresser. That's where she kept her perfume bottles and lipstick tubes.

Wow I bet the cases on the lipstick tubes would've really made a woman's make up feel like a very personal and intimate thing (not to say modern makeup isn't similarly person/intimate), likely less something to throw on your face and more like an accessory and fashion decision before even wearing the makeup. I really love this look at history, thank you!

I love that there are lipstick tube options! They are all so pretty. I think the first 2 with the filagree style are my favorite, but the glass and mother of pearl style are also lovely! Another great video - i find the slow pace extremely relaxing . Thank you for the wok you do!

I’ve learned a lot since I started but I still don’t have the sound down. 😕 But yes, the mic was closer and I tried to point my head in the right direction even if the activity was “over there” lol. This reminds me of a simpler time when I was a boy and the Avon lady would come by my grandmother's house and leave samples and a catalog. I always got a Snoopy themed soap on a rope or something else from the catalog for Christmas.

"I really see all four cases in your future!" Haha, they really were salespeople weren't they! My friend's mom sold Mary Kay, and called me after i had my first baby, and kept pushing to come see the baby and talk to me about opportunities with selling Mary Kay. I kept politely declining because i knew she was using sales tactics on me, and she had no real interest in seeing my baby. I eventually had to be blunt and say no, i wasn't interested. I must say, she was a great salesperson to the end! 💄 💋 😅

Did I live back then? ☺️☺️ Yes I did, albeit as a young child. But yes, Avon was really like this. And my mom’s Avon lady would come toour house and demonstrate the latest products and shades. My mom always gave me the little tiny sample lipsticks to play with. As a little girl, I thought it was magical. ✨✨
