Wait friend. What about the F2 or F3? I think the 3 is like $300 and it's got F guts obviously as it's an F but can't comment on ahim how good they truely are. Ahim to be fair I really can't hard say yes or no on quite a few of these Zooms as I've not heard them with an NT1-A mic. See my blind friend Neal Ewers when he did his reviews would always use Sound Devices 744-T a 4 thousand $ recorder with the NT1-A for quietness. Then in this case how does the new esental series hold up to that? Well I know kind of the answer. Ahim as well as the original h6 did and as well as either the original H4N or H4N Pro. That 1 depends. If the new 1 is like the pro then meh that's ppretty good. Not mixer desk perfect mind but come on man. The oligarchs aren't going to give you mixer desk guts in a cheep to them recorder. I think this is the mistake people make. Thus all the shade.

Rode I have to say were exemplary when it came to tech help with their wireless go ii... Perhaps they are the exception to the rule.

Personally I think it's gatekeeping Case in point...the h8 has an ein of -124. Which is better...than these.

Ah I see. Yeah the H8 was seen by reaper. Now with the H6 Reaper before 6 it use to see it. But when 6 came out it would only see it in stereo mix mode. Now though since I tried it last week it sees it in no mode. The only problem with the H8's ASIO is that it's 1 driver for boath modes. The problem here is that this ASIO doesn't burp out the Dell gimic audio. So you don't get good audio out.@@DarkCornerStudios

When an Olympus voice recorder at a similar price point gives MUCH better results with external mics and has better build quality you know there is something not good enough with Zoom.

Wait which Olympus are you comparing with? I've used Olympusas they have since 2007 had talking menus. But have given up on them as they've gone mini me and have a mini me sound. Their problem is they kill all their epic products. DM 2 and 4 with a builtin screen reader. Killed off. LS-100 with XLRs and mostly talking menus killed. Like come on Olympus oligarchs. @@doubledeckers

@MelancholyGalliard depends. I love the Rode Wireless options... Have not reviewed the f3 yet...but its on the list. I really do like the Lewitt Connect 6

@@DarkCornerStudios That's the issue. I have the Tascam X8 but for even their DR05 or 07 are significantly bigger than the H1 and don't have a 32bit float. If it's the only one in a category it's simultaneously the best and worst.

@@DarkCornerStudios Yes but whilst it's smaller than the X8, I think it's a competitor to the H4 or H6. It's bigger than the DR05 and 07 and way bigger than H1n or H1 essential, which is the category that has the void.
