@@reidb8699 you seem to be misinformed. SNL isn't supposed to be funny. It's a political show. Sure, they dress up as different characters but it's not meant to be funny it's supposed to tell people what they should be thinking about various topics. Personally, I don't want some jester making people laugh so I can't hear the point the performers are making. A whole room laughing is annoying. What I want to hear is a light smattering of applause and a couple of people "wooing" when someone is trying to take the time to tell me what to think because I'm a busy guy and don't always have the time to figure stuff out for myself. I need to concentrate when I watch the show as they have some radical opinions. Like who would have known slavery, famine and poverty was bad if it wasn't for the dedicated heroes on SNL? I just want to say to them "thank you for your service"

I actually liked it better on my second watch which is a testament to the comedy itself, and I'm pretty versed in standup after 20 years of being a fucking autist about it. Most standup is shit these days, it's a dying art. Which I don't mind because I've always been funnier offstage than myself or most others on stage (sorry I know that's egoic sounding and a huge generalization), it's so contrived it selects for a certain type of person. I've noticed great stand-ups are usually rough on podcasts, and great podcasters are usually rough at standup. Makes total sense to me.

He was bad on almost all LA casts. It's not really his fault. He's a real ass dude and that's why if he sticks to being himself he will be one of the greats. But like many greats he is seduced by the mirage. More practically, they all asked him the same annoying questions about SNL and he's socially anxious so it was just... yeah. I hope one day he realizes that he has been such an instrumental figure, a reluctant hero if you will, in exposing the phoniness of comedy showbiz. His appearances felt like Tonight Show v4.0, and it's not his fault

I've had a friend like Shane in high school, he had very sarcastic sense of humour with a little akwardness and never sugarcoated any subject, always joked about anything. My sense of humour updated vastly with him, too bad now he became quite bitter.
