Great information. I have my own business working in Geriatrics and started of working with agencies and that is what I plan to do once I complete the Postpartum program. 😁

Finally I found a doula that did not train with DONA 😂 I am decided on a more holistic training as well! I started doubting myself and wondering if people would take me seriously if my training was not with a organization that is better “recognized”

yeah nope not for me! I have never once been asked about my training. ❤️ unless you're looking to work with a specific organization, birth center, hospital, etc that looks for DONA certified doulas, which I have seen out there, I haven't found it to be a personal setback.

What happens when you’re solo doula-ing and two clients go into labor at the same time? Both money wise and also personnel wise

I'm not sure what I stated in this video but since I filmed this, I would always try to have a back-up doula lined up for clients due less than 2 weeks apart 😊My back-up would be paid for their "on-call" time and then services if they were called in. If I took on two women very close in due dates, I would let my client know ahead of time that I have a back-up. Ideally they would have also met them already so if this did happen they would feel as comfortable as they could given the situation!

Thank you for this! Do you need to become a member to "a life of peace* or can someone just sign up to the certification program in Texas without being a member? Is there a difference? Thanks so much! And what was the pro & con to your experience?

Is work inconsistent even in the agency setting?

It depends! Some agencies are very busy, others are not. In my experience, I've realized they have somewhat consistent work when there aren't many other agencies in the area, (for reference, I live in the suburbs).
