Should have gone bats soon as you saw the chims. I feel like bats are the best for FFA as everyone goes mass air, which is the most powerful. Only counters are bats and tanks. So you just go that and level you hero’s really high. It’s a no brainer

Wyvs are usually better but you need to be ready to spam bats if required (eg if you are being countered by hippos/gargs/gyros), but bats are much less effective against heavy air in the mid to late game.

@@ossiejones9174 didi you read the comment, I said soon as he saw the chims, they are best anti air. Wyvs get destroyed by the hypos/gyros

Aaron Goodchild I’ll edit the comment, what I meant was as soon as you see hippos you need bats. Most of the best FFA players use wyv and mix bats in when needed, as they can get very expensive and against a good NE player you may end up getting out golded by using pure bats against Chims, which was likely to happen in this situation. I would agree that bats are easier and less risky though

Aaron Goodchild They aren’t the most effective vs chims though, wyvs rip through them due to their armour type, but you need to clear the hippos first, and bats are designed to do that (and if they are clumped you don’t need many), they aren’t suited to killing heavy air. This is particularly true vs good NE like he was who use staff and scroll of protection/healing which limits the effectiveness of bats. Look at high lvl ffa games and you will see what I mean. It’s the same story with gryphons and wyvms, clear the gyros/hawks/Gargs then wyvs clean up due to piercing vs light armour

Fair enough, but your over thinking it’s First- this isn’t high level Second- you need bats as they will have hippos to destroy wyvs, I was talking about the game Witii played. His wyvs got own by the hippos. If he had spammed bats it would have owned the night elf which in THIS game was his main issue. Third- of course go wyvs BUT once you see the are going ONLY air, it’s a no brainer go straight bats. This will fully own an air army and give huge XP to hero’s, they will then change strat and maybe go ground etc but by this time hero’s are high level and you can change strat as well This proving Wyvs are great cause they do ‘pierced damage’ is silly and pointless cause we are talking about an all air army(they never go JUST Chims, they always have hippos)

Hard to tell if you were trolling wtii, but you practically gave up and got into your rut of complaining about how much of an advantage the NE had etc once you lost that first battle (which you shouldn't have fought until you had bats). You needed to try and expand more (like the expo right below your base for example!)
