Wonder what he'd have made of "social media"? People seem not to think they are alive nowadays unless everything is recorded on their accounts and appreciated by all their "friends" or "followers". On the other hand, we wouldn't have access to the Watts' wisdom without KZfaq ☺️

Social media itself, minus algorithms to keep you hooked, isn't that inherently bad. But of course the never ending scrolling, too many options to react, sharing, just sucks you in. Has good and bad qualities imo, but think Watts would agree it's more of a tool to use in moderation than a way of life Here's one relevant quote of his "If you get the message, hang up the phone. For psychedelic drugs are simply instruments, like microscopes, telescopes, and telephones. The biologist does not sit with eye permanently glued to the microscope, he goes away and works on what he has seen"

The frequencies released at the finale of this video felt like a refreshing switch of a lightbulb. The thoughts being the light source, being powered by electricity; and the darkness resulting from the switch--emptied to be a space that my thoughts frequent. A space much like that of the black matter that encapsulates our planet and expands throughout our universe. To me in that moment, being within this space wasn't so much like I was occupying it but one with it. I'm looking around my room, taking in my surrounding as if they are foreign.

Yes, we all do to varying extents. Thought is not reality, though it can comment truths about reality, ultimately it is illusion

philosophical daoism chapter one of the i ching, those who speak of the dao does not understand the dao. translation, if you think you understand the way or path to reality you really don't know what you're talking about, further translation, cuz the truth is already in front of you, you don't need artificial thoughts to come up with a paradigm to live life its already perfect, artificial thoughts begets artificial thoughts, they are mere illusions of the world.

Or you could look at it as if everyone else is living in a world of illusion, and the great philosophers live in the "real" world
