And now I live Red Hook which is walking distance to Brooklyn Bridge Park. While I love all the neighborhoods you mentioned But unmmm there’s hipsters in all of them lol! Great video thou. My favorite parts about this video are when first she mentions that she’s lived in Brooklyn since she moved here which apparently makes sense. Also that the most iconic neighborhoods are the ones literally right next to each other in one area of Brooklyn, all of which stare at a bridge and manhattan. These people are so excited about being brooklynites that the best things they can advise you to see on your visit are bridges that get you out of Brooklyn. The fact that Coney Island isn’t on this list shows you exactly what type of local you are dealing with. For such bridge enthusiasts you would think the Verrazano would make the cut before the manhattan.
@PierreTL
@PierreTL 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex! Thanks for watching. It could make the cut but we made that guide for friends and people who’d come to nyc for 2-3days max. It felt like Coney Island was just a bit out of the way if I were to recommend someone for only 2 days. What do you think?
@brightonbeach1000
@brightonbeach1000 6 жыл бұрын
well considering the four neighborhoods mentioned in the video could be experienced in 2 days yes your suggestion for friends and people coming to brooklyn makes sense. the same amount of sense it makes to suggest they visit park slope and bayridge or perhaps coney island and brighton beach. however seeing as how the title of the video is the "ultimate guide to brooklyn" and not "what we think is the best neighborhoods to visit for a weekend" perhaps it should include more than one neighborhood. just out of curiosity how long have you lived in brooklyn?

Trina & Pierre - I have to agree with Beverly and many others with you trying to make this out as a "perspective from locals" video. Most of the businesses that you guided your viewers to are noob businesses that are a bit hipster-ish. True locals would've gone to the old mom & pop businesses that have been around longer than you or your parents have been alive. It's a shame that many of those businesses are getting ousted out because that's what I'm more interested in if I want a true NYC experience. 🌃🌇🗽

*Please stop. North Brooklyn does not mean “ultimate guide” you’ve forgotten REAL Brooklyn and not overpriced and over run by every person who moved from other parts of the country and suddenly think it makes them a New Yorker. This shows how you don’t actually travel and explore which shouldn’t be a surprise since you’re basically a hipster. You have neighborhoods like Crown Heights,Prospect Heights,Coney Island,Sheepshead Bay,Bed-Stuy,Flatbush and many more areas that aren’t just white people and people from diverse backgrounds. Please actually think about that next time you make an “ultimate list” which should be titled more like “hipster havens list”.I was actually born and raised here in NYC*

Damn....what a sad reality that this is what my beautiful Williamsburg has turned into....Us Blacks and Latinos in Brooklyn need to stand up!!! I was in Bedstuy the other day and I kid you not I seen that they took down most of a Fat Albert just to make a Starbucks and I also seen hipsters in the neighborhood....Over the years, I've seen more and more hipsters coming from Greenpoint and the North Side coming into our side of Williamsburg...About a year ago, me and my family were trying to move into a bigger apartment right across from the one that we were currently living in...We were begging the NYCHA to let us move in but they said that they only wanted White people or Jewish people to move in and they started raising the rent on us and we had to move out. My family had to pay almost $2000 for the rent every month for the tiny 2 bedroom a apartment that we were living in🙄Us Blacks and Latinos need to speak up!!! We cant let them to continue to do this to us!!! We will not let them kick us out of our homes!!! I've been living in Williamsburg since I was a baby and it's a shame me and my family were forced out of the neighborhood that we loved!!!!

I'm thankful that my family owns a townhouse in Bushwick; They got it for cheap in the 90's. Same with the actual locals who've bought them and refuse to sell. It's honestly disgusting how our neighbors are being evicted for not being able to keep up with the inflation of rent because of people like her who are systematically causing our people to become homeless or to move out.

Less white people now than before tbh. Most of Brooklyn used to be all white back in the day

Sorry to be mean or obnoxious, but the neighborhoods mentioned in this video are spots for Brooklyners. All from out of town or in town millennials. Brooklynites, true native people live in other, many very nice neighborhoods. Brooklynites can't relate to you or the Millennial culture. True you have improved most of those neighborhoods, but now they just have no soul unlike other parts of Brooklyn.
