Canadian here. Backpacked around NZ in 1990. Jet-boating on the Shotover scared the piss out of me; lots of fun. Coolest thing was bumping into my brother and one of his friends in Queenstown. They were on a year-long 'round the world trip and we hadn't talked/seen each other in months and had no idea where each other was. No cell-phones or internet back then. Love NZ.

The Shotover Jet was absolutely one of the best activities on my trip to NZ in 2018. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Most unadulterated fun I’ve ever had!! What a rush!

That river looks familiar. I grew up on a lake in the Midwest US; a speedboat ride was always fun! Heated handrails are a nice touch

I’ve been white water rafting 7 times in my life and I loved it but seeing this new adventure makes want to hop on a plane and go to NZ so I can experience this first hand. I guess it can’t be that dangerous if you guys aren’t wearing helmets. I loved seeing the joy in the kids, I think that is what makes things like that fun, watching the kids faces. I also loved the scenery in the back with the snow and being from L.A. I also loved the pink L.A. Beanie. I couldn’t tell if you had seat belts, but thank sharing this. Stay warm.

That's like white river rafting only we use oars to keep away from cliffs and sometimes people fall out of the raft what fun I fell out. I like that version you guys have much better that was awesome our NZ FAMILY thank you loved the hair 😆 🤣 😂

This was SO much fun when I did it. So glad y'all had a go. My only "complaint" was my hips were bruised from being tossed left and right. lol And for any readers: the boat will sometimes be on about 3 inches of water...that's it! It's such a blast.

Kiwis, believe it or not, I rode with this jetboat company when I was on that long trip I took in '87. The difference was that I was there in November, which resulted in much warmer weather than you experienced. I just wore a T-shirt, as I remember.

All fun! I did a road trip all the way up New Zealand 🇳🇿 in 2017 with some girlfriends. We did the jet boat near Taupo on Waikato River (Rapids Jet) and it was absolutely stunning aqua blue water. Highly recommend! Also was warmer weather in March. Cheers from WA state 🙌🏻!
