Her ability to live in the genre she’s singing is so effortless and powerful at the same time. We hear in Bad Valentine the amazing depth and weight of her tone when she decides to lean into those power notes. And it’s fun to watch Angelina play the bad girl. This song needs attitude, and Angelina delivers that in spades.

The instrumentation/production were just beautiful. There are so many 'supers' to this pre-release, a jazzy song and production that was meant for Angelina. Her voice, as usual, just amazing, her belting here was otherworldly! This bodes well for the year, for her fans, for anyone who loves good music. I love your reactions to Angelina. She is very special, a beautiful child now grown to this gorgeous women and, best of all, raised by a very loving family who always have her best interest as their guiding light. It is an honour that Angelina and Co. are allowing us all to watch this even before it is released. And apart from this amazing song another thing caught my attention: when Angelina talks you would never ever guess she is such an amazing vocalist. When she talks she sounds a bit shy, or maybe humble is a better word. But as soon as she picks up a microphone the singer in her takes over business..... and that's another thing: it is confidence at the highest level. In addition to that: let's not forget at only 18 years of age she has over 10 years of experience. In Angelina's words "singing is like breathing for me". Mind blowing, isn't it? Love your take on Angelina. I can correlate my experience in sports and writing to yours as a singer/vocal coach it must be invigorating to look at her from your perspective. And yes I agree--we get a hefty dose of all those "Angelinaisms" that nobody else can quite replicate. Her artistry has been unique and mind blowing throughout her short life and how she continues to maintain that is astounding. She combines the old with the new into something that is timeless, something that can be taken back or to the future seamlessly. It looks like Stevie Ray Vaughn bringing back the Blues, and interestingly enough they are very similar in many ways--eerily so in some instances.

Great reaction Juliet, I always enjoy your videos. I think "Mr. Niceguy" is the bad valentine because he lacks passion, is inauthentic, only hears what he wants to hear & he doesn't really know her, so she's dumping him "without a tear in her eye.". At least that's what I get from this song. In a recent interview when Angelina was asked if she had a boyfriend, she answered "Boys only give me trouble, I have to focus on my career first." That also gives us some insight into her current thinking about romantic involvement, just sayin'!!!

Great reaction to a song like nothing I’ve ever heard… you won’t hear this one playing on Feb 14, but I could listen to it the other 364 days! Also, before you review “Unchained Melody” you need some background about that performance and why she picked that particular song… first, everyone thinks of that song as being a classic love song, one of the best, by the RighteousBrothers from the ‘60s. The melody was actually composed in the 30s and the producers of a 1955 movie named “Unchained” had the lyrics added. The movie was about a new kind of prison that had just opened in Chino, California, where unlike most prisons of the time where inmates were often wearing chains, the warden told new arrivals that there wasn’t much keeping them locked up there…the towers didn’t have armed guards, and the fences weren’t all that high. He even told them, “if you do climb the fence, be sure to throw your coat over the barbed wire at the top so you won’t get cut. Just be aware, if you do escape, you’ll be on the run, apart from your loved ones who can visit you here, and once you are caught you will be doing even more time, and it won’t be at this type of facility!” While incarcerated there, the prisoners longed to be with their families but knew escaping would in-fact separate them further from their loved ones! 68 years later, in 2023, a 17 year old Angelina Jordan was asked to perform for the second time at a presentation of the Nobel Peace Prize.
