The Shawshank Redemption had an amazing storytelling technique: The story of Andy told from the perspective of Red (with Morgan Freeman's amazing narration voice). It wasn't a huge success when it was first released because of high competition with other great movies (Pulp, Forrest Gump) and because it didn't feature an important female figure, but it's still one of the greatest of all time.

Great work as usual! one thing to add is the « Hero’s Journey » Andy took within the walls. First he has a naïve faith in humanity and the concept of Hope, w his philosophy gets challenged altrough the movie ( being physically abused by the prisoners and par la suite by the warden) Regardless he holds on his ideas which makes them stronger thus a hero’s journey in his own mind. Such a great movie and such a great review!

سلام للأسف الفيلم ترشح لبزاف الاوسكار و ماربحش حتا وحدة بسبب فورست كامب فداك العام الفيلم الى لاحضتي الاضاءة بوحدها عالم بوحدو اغلبية اللقطات الشريرة فبها ظلام و الحبس اضاءة قليلة او ظل و فاش خرج اندي من الحبس كاتشوف الوان فاتحة لاول مرة فالفيلم

تماما، انا تفرجت ففورست غامب فيلم زوين ، ولكن شاوشانك شي حاجة أسطورية ، وحيث الأوسكار كيتبع أجنداة خاصة عطاوه جوائز كثار حيث كيهدر على حقب مختلفة و مهمة من تاريخ ديال الميريكان.
