What you think of NVME drives. I will love to grab a native NVME 4.0 supported server, but the prices are up there. You think a R630/R640 with NVME will make a difference...My laptop has a Samsung Pro990 NVME 4.0 and its so fast especially installing software like windows server etc booting up labs ...

I'd have to look at IOps and see the differences. But I'll take your word for it.

Are the 'cores' a limitation to the # of devices you can have in an Eve instance ?? i.e. If I have 20 ....errr logical processors ( 2 sockets, 10 cores per) does that mean I can only have, for instance, 10 Nexus 9K images running (2 cpu's per device) or is it more a function of available GHZ ??

Technically its 10 9ks, however, I realized after only deploying what I thought was my limit, I was only using 10-15% of the capacity, so I added more until I reach 30% and had 25 9ks running. This was a bare-metal install of EVE, so it's more a function of available GHz.

@@RobRikerTechChannel roger that ty sir, I have an R810 myself (based on you're recommendation from a video wayyyy back). ESXI with Eve VM but these larger CCIE topologies.... it don't like em, at alllllll. Its like there's a one second delay when typing on the cli which is maddening when labing, so I'm either going to drop 1K on an upgrade or try the bare metal approach, still undecided. I am going to buy your lab at some point btw, just working through INE's 2 mock labs at the moment.

@@joshbest9294 there's absolutely an upper limit to how many devices can be run in a VM, when I discovered it, I knew I had to go bare metal, ever since then, I don't waste my time on the VM. If you still need to do ESXi stuff with VMs for whatever reason, I'd buy an affordable server to do that stuff. Just my advice.
