Thank you so much for making this video. Feeling a bit discouraged trying to make an Animal Crossing let's play. Find it hard not to be awkward, haha.. This is much harder than I thought but also very fun.

Tyler Miller: Thanks. Very helpful video! Is the red mic in the picture the mic you are actually using in this video? How far can you sit away from it and still get good quality? It looks as if it's standing behind you, is it? We just started off using the mic integrated in the webcam. But we aren't too satisfied with its quality.

I already know not to use an internal mic. I only used it for my early videos because I had to record on my sister's mac and I couldn't get a good way to use a mic.

I'm in the process to get my channel going, its gonna be a lets play series and I don't plan on talking through the entire video, I'd rather just edit and upload the video and let the audience enjoy a quality video, Ive came across several channels structured that way.

I'm a Let's player wannabe and you can take this man seriously. It's been 2 years now that I want to be a KZfaqr and I've still do nothing because I want to have the perfect setup. I've already bought a capture card (Elgato Game Capture HD, the best one) and I've like him the Logitech C920 which is awesome. I'm now saving money for the Blue Yeti + Mount Shock + Rode PSA1. You need to take your time before starting anything or you'll be disappointed by your work so take it slowly!
@fdmazlum
@fdmazlum 11 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know, I watched your Rode PSA1 review and decided to add it in my wishlist :P In fact I tried one time to start with standard setup (10 videos) and wasn't satisfied by the quality at all, deleted videos and since that I'm saving money. Brought the Elgato 6 months ago and the Logitech C920 one year earlier. Now I'm saving for the Razer Nostromo, Dell 27inch screen+Ergotron MX Mount, Blue Yeti+Shock mount+Rode PSA1, HDMI Switcher (PC/XBOX360/Android =>Switch=>Elgato=>Screen) :D

Aaaaand I changed my mind, I'll go for the Blue Spark like you, if I buy the Blue Yeti+Shock Mount+Pop filter (in Europe), it cost me as much if I buy the Blue Spark+XLR+Icicle (in USA with 40$ shipping fees to Europe) and you know how good is the Blue Spark :P Its worth the extra delivery days to wait until it comes to Europe :3

I'm having problems with my audio where my own audio is always very, very low. I sometimes am able to boost it up using audacity/sony vegas but not all the time. Is there a way I can record my audio louder without getting feedback. I use a Blue Snowball at the moment, considering the switch to an Audio-Technica AT-2020. Also, great video. I found it really helpful. :)

Thanks for watching! Your microphone levels may be turned down within the sound settings of the computer. If you right click on the little speaker icon in your taskbar (where you can adjust the sound, it's usually beside the time on the bar at the bottom of your screen) and click on recording devices you can see the settings for the Blue Snowball. If you double click on it and go to the levels tab you can see if your levels are low, if they are low I would bring them up to about 75-85.

Well overall, mics are better than headsets. Some mics cost upward of $10,000. I don't know a headset that costs that much haha. But there are some headsets that are better than mics. For me, it's a personal preference. I've always loved an external mic to talk into/record with.

The problem for me to start a let's play series is that I would need to play a game that would be trending, for example, I would have let's played the upcoming Pokemon Sword or Shield but I don't have a nintendo switch, and any other game that I like is either not as popular or is boring for other people.

Best thing to do is to test the water. Don't buy stuff immediately, dumb idea. Instead test the water, do some vids. Try your hardest, be creative. Why buy this stuff when you don't even know if you really want to do KZfaq. If you gain an audience that's active, then get equipment. But not overpriced. Set a budget.

My question is how easy is it and what process do you do to get permission to do different games for lets plays and have the ads to make money. I know some youtubers risk it and do a lets play of any games but I would think it would be better do get permission first. I also understand that certain games like indie and not well known games may be easier to get permission but there are some more well known games I would like to do lets plays for... I know there is a lot of how tos for lets plays but a most tend to fail to go over this part of it in detail. Any tips or info on this would be great! Thanks
@TylerMiller

Lilly waters I know for myself that I just Let's Play pretty much any game I want but not all games can be monetized by myself. For example, the other day I got a few claims on my New Super Mario Bros U Let's Play (videos that are over a year old) and I can still keep them up, but I just can't get money off of them because NIntendo wants to claim them themselves. As far as getting permission, you won't ever hear a response back from a big company like Nintendo or EA unless they make a public announcement.

+Lilly waters Common rule of thumb seems to be avoid NINTENDO and SEGA at all costs... for other developers this may help you find what your looking for i know this is really late but... yeah lol www.wholetsplay.com/wiki/doku.php

+Tyler Miller you don't need a gaming pc or gaming laptop depends on what you're recording and how much editing power do you need cause laptops can handle emulators, these are great starters emulators make a fantastic begging and soon you change it up
@Midnight_Blade121
@Midnight_Blade121 8 жыл бұрын
+Carl Grimes however remember that unless you own the physical cartridge, disk, etc... of the game your emulating thats technically piracy... and could potentially come back to bite you so thats something to keep in mind when it comes to emulators

Most companies encourage making videos because it helps advertise. Very few don't allows it. And some May have restrictions. For example, I believe call of duty is a game that they don't appreciate having they story in a video. I may be thinking of a different game actually but that's just am example.
