Have you been victim to a youtube view bot attack, have you fallen foul of the youtube terms of service and it wasn't your fault, can you protect your channel as a content creator from malicious use of view bot software? Maybe you're not aware of view bots and how they can be weaponized, then watch this video and find out more.
In this video I describe what a view bot is and how they can be used as a weapon. In particular, large numbers of views with short watch time can have a negative impact on your videos and channel with the KZfaq algorithm.
Seemingly there's no recourse, no ability to prevent this from happening and the consequences could be disastrous for your channel. You could lose monetization, have your videos deleted or even have your channel removed. So even if you are an honest content creator, you can be targeted and have your youtube channel impacted by nefarious individuals.
Thankfully I host a small but steadily growing KZfaq running channel and therefore the impact of such an activity should be minimal. But it can happen again and again and again. Then what happens? The first step is to expose the occurrence and reach out to similarly affected content creators. Hopefully by raising awareness KZfaq may be able to take steps to help protect each channel.
