So Optimus did point out a valid reason for pursuing this case. The absolutely insane things people are doing now for Internet fame. But there are so so many other content creators doing much worse stuff. That being said lets all take a moment to appreciate Optimus here. Dude isnt hurting anyone, hasnt had any controversy, has largely kept his KZfaq career and private life separate. Its been like what five years and i have no idea what this dude looks like. The pilot likely lost their license or got suspended for carrying out the stunt. Only a hundred feet off the grown,.. not much time for the pilot to react… You need special permits like they have in movies to fire anything explosive from aircraft. Yes, it’s not legal to fire fireworks in California (people still do it on July 4th) with exceptions for Sea World and Disneyland. The big oops is doing anything on Federal land. If it was state owned land, it would be a slap on the wrist. Choi should have done his homework and got the permits in order for the stunt. Tire marks on California deserts are a big deal and could take years to recover due to drought conditions. When I was in the Marines, we had designated areas we could drive in to minimize the damage. It’s a big deal and not something like reading someone’s mail.

IDK, I feel conflicted about this entire situation.

After shadowing a production team, I would say that the charges he is getting are rather generous considering you have modified firearms involved here. Where I am getting these firearms from is the launchers the fireworks were fired from, I know it sounds silly until you look at regulations surrounding pyrotechnics and what a firearm is within your state. Also lets look at safety here, for one you do need a permit to film in certain areas, that said the producer is on the line should anyone get injured which does include person and animal walking onto the set of their production. I am also hearing about the argument that it took a year for them to charge him, the problem with many guerrilla productions is people do get charged after sufficient evidence is gathered, just look up the history on the Terminator movie on how they got charges for filming the highway chase without a permit. I know it sounds silly in regards to permits and they are really easy to get, most places will give you one as long as you show you have a certain amount in liability insurance, funds for security, have a means to clean up after your finished and that you pay the deposit for use of the land. That said this is all on the producer and they are the ones to ultimately blame like Alec Baldwin, Executive Producer for the film Rust.

“Unfortunate situation” Blatant disregard for the safety of the people in the helicopter or those in the lambo is not unfortunate, its incompetence. They had no medical staff on site, and did not have a flight path cleared through the FAA, nor did they have permits to be on federal land. There’s reasons as to why you can’t bring fireworks on planes without significant safety measures. And here, they disregarded it. Also, the Feds took a while to prosecute because it takes a long time to begin prosecution, especially when the Feds had to go out to the site that Choi used in order to investigate, along with the evidence that had to be gathered.

Um, yeah. I can see why the Feds want to charge the KZfaqr. Fireworks being launched at a moving Italian Supercar? Seems dangerous enough.

Normally i wouldnt support people chasing attention, but this should be a few big fines and a good warning, maybe a good bit of community service, someone is just using him to send a message to content creators at large. One additional thing though, even though this was on federal land, out west the feds own thousands upon thousands of acres of land, odds are they didnt have any clue this event happened until well after and someone brought their attention to the video, and even then, the feds will take their time investigating before making a move, thats why it took them a year to go after him
