How to remove and replace mirror motor/actuator or mirror glass. The actuator for my 2012 BMW X5 35i is 67136973724. This is for vehicles with seat memory.

Ok looks good and very helpful. As I have an E90 335 that I just ordered circular motor assembly only (not expensive) and need to remove the glass, then remove the circular motor part, then replace basically exactly what you did. This is great as this does not involve removing the entire mirror unit from the door (which requires interior door trim removal etc). I hope I can get my circular motor part out and then replace and pop glass back on as you have done on my 335.

I do NOT have cameras in the mirror assembly. Too pricey for me but I'm sure they are cool!

I have 2009 x52009 and the mirror is not working..

Just to add a comment, X5 e53 models 2001-2006 have a slightly different mirror back plate and you cannot re fit it using this method . You have to re attach the back plate to the mirror first and then you can push fit the mirror back on to the motor assembly. This is because the back plate on the earlier models is a slide up ward movement to locate the tabs into position and you can't do this if the backplate is already attached to the motor. Nice, but I need to REPLACE the entire MIRROR ASSEMBLY - do I need to remove the inside door panel?

I haven't had to replace an entire BMW mirror assembly but I seriously doubt you have to remove the inside door panel. I did replace an entire Mercedes SUV side view mirror and did not have to disturb the door panel. I'll see what I can find and report back if I discover otherwise. I only needed to replace the broken mirror glass so I did not remove the entire assembly. there must be youtube videos showing how to remove the entire assembly. good luck
