I'm utterly speechless... I knew a lot of work went into katanas but I never had any idea this much work went into the tsuba alone! I tip my hat to you good sir, may you live long in good health.

As an amateur - trying to modify my own sword has taught me many things. Two of those things being humility and appreciation for the craftmanship of such a skilled artist. The thing that baffles me most is the seethrough of someone who will sit down - and work out a concept by chiseling away metal for hours if not days - and then go beyond the point I would have been satisfied with - to produce something so amazingly detailed and well designed. That change of perspective and the final result are things that inspire me. Thank you for this delightful video.

I have never seen a film that captures the infinite attention to detail, patience and artistic talent that Ford Hallam possesses as this one depicts. His talent of creating such intricate designs in metals, I am awestruck his hands create pieces that escapes us mortal men!!! He is truly a Master of this discipline, I am hoping the children that are in this film are learning this discipline and will carry on this art for the next generation. INSPIRING

I just the fact that seeing you work is Art for your lightness of movement ... thank you very much Ford is super inspiring

Mr Hallam, your work is superb. Can you tell me how in the 18th century a man could make similar work without any magnifying technology? Working only with daylight. Some of the work, especially nanako is so precise, especially on juyo work. I'm at a loss to understand how they did it.
