Jonathan, why did you choose a 7/8th size cello? Do you have a video on choosing an appropriate size cello? I am shorter person (so arms length is shorter and torso is smaller) but I also have large hands so is the more important thing that my fingers reach or the body fits my body?

As do I, though it cannot be that hard to shorten the neck for it is a two piece construction

Jonathan, why is it that I never find any reference in your videos about what kind of amplifier is best suited for a silent cello like the Yamaha or others. Should I look for an amplifier for guitar, bass guitar, or the keyboard? I wish for an acoustic cello sound. Unfortunately, everybody is giving me mixed answers. The SVC-210 is way more functional cause it's more compact, w/ it's interesting look.

I do agree on functionality for silent practice but the Yumi is far smaller when stored

Interesting. Is the fingerboard the usual cello length and it's just the body that's redesigned to reduce the overall size? Similarly, what do you think of the chin cello or even the vertical viola (aka alto violin)? The [sub] octave strings would give them a cello sound, but I'd imagine the smaller viola finger spacing would therefore clash with cello playing. I ultimately want to learn cello, so, although I've seen some affordable, good quality viola turned chin cello, I've been holding out to possibly get a decent cello instead. Having not played any bowed instruments, I do ponder if starting on a conveniently small chin cello in the meantime would be better than nothing, however.
