This luscious chicken paella will satisfy all of your taste buds.
RECIPE:
2 lbs chicken wings or any cut of chicken you like. Cut the very tip of the wings and cut into two pieces.
2-3 cups rice (washed and soaked for 1/2 hour so it will cook quickly)
Salt, Pepper and garlic powder to taste. Wash, clean and rinse chicken. Season and let sit for 1/2 hour to 1 hour.
1 large onion, 3 carrots and 1 Bell Pepper - color of your choice, 2 bay leaves.
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
Cabbage(optional)
Sugar(optional)
2 heaping Tblsps tomato paste or 2 medium chopped tomatoes.
1 cup Oil for sautéing chicken
METHOD: Pour oil in large pan. Add sugar(optional) When sugar begins to turn medium brown in color Add chicken pieces. If you are not using sugar, put chicken pieces in hot oil and sauté and turn for 10 minutes. When chicken has a beautiful brown color on all sides, put onion, garlic, Tomatoes (if using) bayleaves, celery, and cabbage. Stir to incorporate. Add water to cover surface of chicken. (As shown in video) Add tomato paste and stir. Add rice and press gently into liquid. Cover and Reduce heat. Cook for 1/2 hour. Rice should be tender. Enjoy!
