I think Avril Lavigne was most popular before I was born (I was born in 2004) but I loved her music from when I was like 5 until I was 10. I actually heard about YUNGBLUD for the first time when I was listening to Avril Lavigne on Spotify again and Spotify recommended YUNGBLUD. Since then I was wishing them to sing together and it happened. I can't be happier 😁

She hit those high notes at the end like it was nothing. They were free and resonant. Even her face was relaxed as she was singing them. Her tongue stayed nice and relaxed too which is usually the first thing to fly to the roof of the mouth when someone is straining. This is in the original key too. Super impressive. I honestly think she sounds better now than she used to. She's gotten more depth in her voice now than she used to have.

avril nailed and carried this performance. yungblud has some interesting studio stuff, when sound engineers tweak and add interesting effects over his performance, but his live vocals are below average singer - to sum up , no they harmony isnt amazing, avril did amazing job here and this performace would be even better if yungblud wasn't here

Since her debut in music several other women have had a voice in rock, including she is still a reference for many young singers today. I just said that the next generation can even try, but I doubt that they will achieve a feat as grand and remarkable as this.

i couldn't agree more avril was a huge part of me growing up & when I first heard Dom ii was incredibly taken from his music so to see them calibrate with eachother it just made my heart full. What they meant is that, as a recording/touring artist, it takes a toll on your vocal cords. You get old, and so does your tool as a singer, so obviously your voice is bound to change. She's got very great technique and control now, she sounds truely great.

I was just thinking this, it’s been years since I’ve listen to Avril Lavigne, and then my friend reminded me the other day and I’ve been obsessing over her let go album for the first time in years, now that I’m in adult and I know about music, this woman has like five different levels of range and can sing pretty much any genre which is fucking impressive and I really don’t remember anybody giving her any credit on that level of “one of the greats”

I vividly remember my older brother having a naked picture of her saved on his computer back when I was in middle school... it was a major "Yep, I'm totally into girls too" moment! 😅 It was on one of those ugly 50lb grayish white desktop computers that ran windows 98 and used those free dial up AOL discs you got in the mail! 😅 I was super into her when I was a teenager, but now everytime I see her, my mind just flashes back to that images of her!

I love this performance, possibly the best I have heard Avril live, no auto tune, looking amazing and smashing the vocals. The slight crack in her voice in the bridge was beautiful and raw and REAL. She has always had beautiful tone but not always great control. But as a true artist Avril has worked hard. What a stunning performance and Yungblud was amazing and he gave Avril tons of space.

I think it’s because she blew up at such a young age. She started her career back in the early 00s when her pop punk contemporaries (like Sum 41) were already in their 20s while she was still just a teen. So now those guys look way older now while she still looks (understandably) in her 30s. There’s also the fact that aside from having lyme disease, she never fell into the vices that usually destroys young talents midway into their career. Things like the 27 club, or flirting with crime and dangerous acts. Overall, throughout the years, she’s taken very good care of herself and it certainly shows.
