She hit those high notes at the end like it was nothing. They were free and resonant. Even her face was relaxed as she was singing them. Her tongue stayed nice and relaxed too which is usually the first thing to fly to the roof of the mouth when someone is straining. This is in the original key too. Super impressive. I honestly think she sounds better now than she used to. She's gotten more depth in her voice now than she used to have.

I think Avril Lavigne was most popular before I was born (I was born in 2004) but I loved her music from when I was like 5 until I was 10. I actually heard about YUNGBLUD for the first time when I was listening to Avril Lavigne on Spotify again and Spotify recommended YUNGBLUD. Since then I was wishing them to sing together and it happened. I can't be happier 😁

I’m crying. Avril saved my life more than once. She’s my absolute favorite person. Great to see real music coming back with Yungblud and other young artists. I hope they revive the life and creative spirit in todays youth.

What they meant is that, as a recording/touring artist, it takes a toll on your vocal cords. You get old, and so does your tool as a singer, so obviously your voice is bound to change. She's got very great technique and control now, she sounds truely great.

I love this performance, possibly the best I have heard Avril live, no auto tune, looking amazing and smashing the vocals. The slight crack in her voice in the bridge was beautiful and raw and REAL. She has always had beautiful tone but not always great control. But as a true artist Avril has worked hard. What a stunning performance and Yungblud was amazing and he gave Avril tons of space.

I was just thinking this, it’s been years since I’ve listen to Avril Lavigne, and then my friend reminded me the other day and I’ve been obsessing over her let go album for the first time in years, now that I’m in adult and I know about music, this woman has like five different levels of range and can sing pretty much any genre which is fucking impressive and I really don’t remember anybody giving her any credit on that level of “one of the greats”

Since her debut in music several other women have had a voice in rock, including she is still a reference for many young singers today. I just said that the next generation can even try, but I doubt that they will achieve a feat as grand and remarkable as this.

When I was 15 years old I was standing on a bridge in the pouring rain crying out that I wish the pain and abuse would stop, that someone would just love me, that someone would notice I was missing… It was many years later when this song came out and I was blown away by it because it captured everything thing I was feeling in that moment… I never jumped but did go home that night and overdosed on pills… Thank God he had a better plan for me. The two of you, two of my favorite vocals ever, coming together on this song was amazing in every way to me. Thank you

i couldn't agree more avril was a huge part of me growing up & when I first heard Dom ii was incredibly taken from his music so to see them calibrate with eachother it just made my heart full. This song has such a transformational effect. With story and a deep feeling invoked by the sound and lyrics, Avril really found a masterpiece. Then with this collab, Yunglud did a great job supporting. Damn did Avril hit the notes.

I vividly remember my older brother having a naked picture of her saved on his computer back when I was in middle school... it was a major "Yep, I'm totally into girls too" moment! 😅 It was on one of those ugly 50lb grayish white desktop computers that ran windows 98 and used those free dial up AOL discs you got in the mail! 😅 I was super into her when I was a teenager, but now everytime I see her, my mind just flashes back to that images of her!

What I love about Avril’s voice, is that it feels familiar. Like a voice I would hear in my home town. It’s not the greatest voice I’ve ever heard, it’s not glamorous or larger than life, but it feels like me and my best friend riding bikes on a Summer evening, joking about skipping town and seeing the world. Somehow that means more than what singing legends can offer me.

Avril has more duets coming this summer with her new album. There are collaborations with MOD SUN again and with MGK that will be on her 7th album. Avril is even collaborating with Marshmello on a track as well which sounds insane as those two have different styles.
