On April 12, 1961, Soviet cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, made history at the age of 27 by completing a single orbit of Earth in approximately 108 minutes. After more than 50 years, Gagarin’s journey is still regarded as a key moment in space history that paved the way for all future space endeavors that followed.

There is a statue of Gagarin in Moscow. It's quite impressive. It gleams in the sun and it looks like Gagarin himself is taking off in to space.

I love the passive-aggressive jealousy of the Americans This is a video about the first man in space who (unfortunately for America) was Russian, but they took a time to tell us about their first astronaut in space whom no one cares about and to tell us how America "concluded" the space war with the moon-landing Because they just couldn't take the fact that the Russians were first First object in space: Russians First living thing in space: Russians First human in space: Russians First space walk: Russians First woman in space: Russians Literally the only thing of significance America achieved was to land on the moon and they declared themselves winners because of that And I don't know many people who question the validity of Gagarin, but I've heard about quite a few who question the validity of the moon-walk
@Nemo-ew2hd
@Nemo-ew2hd Жыл бұрын
first object in space (MW 18014) was actually launched by the Nazis. The Americans have made many other technological achievements and possibly the greatest of all which is the furthest object launched from Earth. You don't know about them cause you don't take the time to. America made it a private goal to land on the moon, and hardly any question the validity of Gagarin in comparison to the moon landing because the moon landing was that much more popular and thus more open to skepticism. Placing a human being on the moon is a much more scientifically massive feat relatively speaking.

I'm Alaskan and the few words that I heard him say is that after space trip, he wanted calmness and to work together. I admire him for that because after his glorious flight he was for peace. He even said we need to work together. Yuri is not wrong.

Unlike Gagarin's 108-minute orbital flight in a Vostok spacecraft three times the size of Freedom 7,[66] Shepard stayed on a suborbital trajectory for the 15-minute flight, which reached an altitude of 101.2 nautical miles (116.5 statute miles; 187.4 kilometers), and then fell to a splashdown 263.1 nautical miles (302.8 statute miles; 487.3 kilometers) down the Atlantic Missile Range.[70] Unlike Gagarin, whose flight was strictly automatic, Shepard had some control of Freedom 7, spacecraft attitude in particular. I would not want the Russians to become altruists and enthusiasts again in the interests of the whole World. however, my heart aches for those friends who were betrayed by the Russian authorities in 1985-90. And the most difficult thing is that Russia betrayed the GDR, betrayed Honnecker and the Germans

Exclusive video from Yuri Gagarin's flight into space! The Russians have declassified the archives! The video is in my profile video archives. The unique footage was recorded during the historic flight on April 12, 1961 on the experimental equipment of the Leningrad laboratory EB-1 and was considered lost for a long time. The recording took place in the testing mode of the domestic video recording system KMZI, and was stored in the archives of the All-Russian Research Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting (VNIITR) under the heading "secret". During the digitization of the archives, the recording from a non-standard 70mm magnetic tape of domestic production was restored, and damaged frames and audio fragments were reconstructed using neural networks. The video includes images from several cameras inside the ship, which clearly show Yuri Gagarin, plans of the Earth and shots of outer space from the porthole.
