They would get pretty good at doing it, and Chinese labour pay is not the highest. I think about 30 dollars of the cost is labour. Most of the cost would be high profit margins

When that entire center cap fell into pieces, I felt that pain. Also when the cube looked like it was about to explode. Same thing happened to me reassembling 5x5, but it exploded.

The biggest cube I assembled was the original shengshou 10x10. The corners and the big core pieces were in a deeper compartment. It was a nightmare to put it together.

The first time I took apart and rebuilt a 3x3, it was a little hard to hold the pieces together but I got it. I recently got a 4x4 and let me tell you, it was so damn hard and confusing at first but I got it after like 2 hours. Looking at this video gives me anxiety, I cannot imagine how difficult it is.

I’ve never disassembled and reassembled anything bigger than a 5x5. I think it helps me retain my sanity.
