Yuzuru Hanyu is a Japanese figure skater. He is a two-time Olympic champion (2014, 2018), a two-time World champion (2014, 2017), a four-time Grand Prix Final champion (2013-2016), a Four Continents champion (2020), the 2010 World Junior champion, the 2009-10 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and a five-time Japanese national champion (2012-2015, 2020). He has also medaled at five other World Championships, taking bronze in 2012 and 2021, and silver in 2015, 2016 and 2019.
Upon winning the 2020 Four Continents Championships, Hanyu became the first and only male singles skater to achieve a Super Slam, having won all major competitions in his senior and junior career. Regarded as among the greatest male figure skaters in history, Hanyu has broken world records nineteen times - the most times amongst singles skaters since the introduction of the ISU Judging System in 2004. He is the first man to have received over 100 points in the men's short program, and over 200 points in the men's free skate. He has often received over 300 points in the combined total score in one competition.
Hanyu is the first Asian men's singles skater to win the Olympic gold. At nineteen years old, he was the youngest male skater to win the Olympic title since Dick Button in 1948. He also became the first man to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals since Button's back-to-back titles in 1948 and 1952. At the 2016 CS Autumn Classic International, Hanyu became the first skater in history to successfully land a quadruple loop in a competition. He is the first men's singles skater from Asia to win multiple World Championships.

Yuzuru's life has been full of injuries, surgeries and lots of sufferings. But he never complained about those unfortunate incidents, instead, he continued wanting to skate, as his desire has been always to be a "light" for the people who were badly affected by them earthquake or others disasters or, most recently, by the pandemic. For him, the figure skating is not just a sport, but it is the performance through which he can send his encouraging messages to all the people around the world. That is why we all are moved, inspired and encouraged to hold a hope to move forward for them better future.

Yuzuru is definitely a person to remember as a GOAT, a legend, a "history-maker" to redefine what the figure skating should be. During the past 10 years, despite of many hardships of his life, he was the first to win the Olympic Gold twice, the first to record 18 World Records, the first to achieve the Super Slum. And her is the one who helped his hometown ice rink Sendai rebuild by donating his awards money, as if March 10, 2021, totaling about 31 million yen (=$314400).

I think the central reason people love him is his unique personality, great nature and his wonderful skills that bring his fan and fellow skaters without filtering. He is a chef throwing all the different ingredients; races, nationalities and classes, into a pot, ice rink, making one unique dish no one can challenge. Lastly, he is happy with what he gets. He might be occasionally disappointed with his performances, which is perfectly OK as that's typical human nature, but he know how to accept and praise genuinely his opponents who beat him with their excellent performances.

I was never interested in figure skating, but I really like to see Yuzuru Hanyu skate, even without the jumps seeing Yuzuru skate is beautiful,every time I see him he transmits so much passion in his performance, Yuzuru Hanyu makes figure skating more than a sport, he makes art, but most of all , Yuzuru Hanyu is a human being with a beautiful heart, that's why many people around the world love him.

yuzu just has an aura that I've never seen on other athlete before, like an aura similar to the most charismatic singer or idol. besides an skater, he is a performer, he gives his everything on every single program. and we could talk for hours about his wisdom and way of seeing things. Hanyu is phenomenon of Figure skating World! Unfortunately he was/is constantly robbed by ISU and their judges. He is also constantly belittled by western media saying he only famous in Japan or only focus on the Winnie the Pooh. The history will tell that he is the true legend who actually bring FS to another level! A man who really need to be cherished by us! Thank you Yuzuru for never giving up and always fighting.

I might be old enough because I knew fs for the 1st time in 1978 🤣 when I was little. I've seen lots of great skaters but there's no one with such a lovable character. I've found my favorite ice dancers back in 1984. And after almost 4 decades I can finally say I found my favorite male skater. Don't say that at 27 a skater can't do anything anymore and should retire. Who are we to dictate someone's passion and life? 27 is still young and there are many possibilities to grow but people try to convince him to accept their own 'normal' standards. But remember he's on his own league. Skating is his breath. I know it'll be Yuzuru vs the whole world/ISU traditions if he continued to compete. Torvill and Dean retired after 1984 Olympics & went professionals, but return to compete in 1994 Olympics. They also got underscored and the audiences booed the judges 🤣🤣 There are also other older male and female Olympians in history, so why can't he? Let's wait & see what he'll bring to us in the time to come.

yuzuru is the type of skater and artist that if he was last in the world or first in the world he would still have the same passion for the sport and art of figure skating. he loves it so much that you can just tell it in his performance: that this is what he loves and does. he’s amazing and his passion for the sport and how he helps it evolve is what cements him as the skater that he is.

As we all know, that he won't stop till he achieves his skating goal... quadruple Axel and that makes me so worried for his health, but also proud as we could see how far he got on 26th of December when he landed a 4A, it got downgraded, but he won't stop and will definitely land a ratified 4A in the future...

英語の勉強になるな。ってなっがっ！ (^_^;)でもすでに「偉人伝」になってる。これまでの人生全てをスケートに捧げてしかもシニアデビュー後ほぼ１００%近く表彰台。世界記録数知れず。ただこの動画のタイトル「なぜ皆彼が大好きなのか？」の答えがない。それはもちろん彼の人となり、性格人格が故ですよ。どんなに見た目が良くても心の美しさが反映されないと魅力は半減。羽生君と同じ時代に生きられて光栄です。

私も思う！でも、遅いなぁ～🌈世界の羽生結弦選手になぜなったって人間に平等であり自分が差別されて来たからね。マナーも周りの選手と全く違う。羽生結弦選手は人間の数だけ考え方も人間の数だけ違うと言っていたことあった！私も少しだけ長生きできそう。ネイサン・チェンは羽生結弦選手に憧れているからネ🌈悪く言っているファンもいるけど国も違うのに羽生結弦選手がネイサン・チェンに握手した時にネイサン・チェン、顔が超嬉しいのと、耳まで真っ赤になっていたくらい羽生結弦選手のファンなんです🌸🌸言葉が通じなくても地球は一つだから、世界の羽生結弦選手と言ってもいいと日本の誇り選手ですよネ🌈頑張って応援しましょう🌸🌸🌸

なぜ皆彼を愛するのか？そんなの簡単だよ。彼だけ清廉潔白でルールに基づいて競技してるたった1人のフィギュアスケーターだからね。他の男子選手は氷上ジャンプ大会か氷上ダンス大会だよ。しかしすごい羽生愛だなぁ。ベトナムではフィギュアはマイナー競技なのに羽生君の昔の映像も持ってて事細かにまとめてるんだから。

Hanyu é o melhor patinador de todos os tempos. Ele é fantástico, dono de saltos extraordinário. Não há outro patinador tão completo quanto Yuzuru. Na última olimpíada de 2022, ele merecia o podium, foi injusto para com ele, desculpe os demais competidores mas ele foi sensacional. Pode ser que houve forças politicas ou parcialidade dos julgadores mais ele mostrou ao mundo para que veio e fez de sua trajetória a melhor trajetória artística, por isso, ele é o melhor do mundo🌍⛸🤴🏻🌸1️⃣💠💜❄ Detentor de uma performance fabulosa, a patinação artística sem a presença ilustre de Hanyu. He has been my light, hope, inspiration, and motivation ever since I first saw him in the 2018 olympics. He keeps doing what he loves and hopes to use it to bring hope to others. Not only is he an incredible athlete, he is also a kind, amazing human being. His skating reminded me that figure skating isn’t just a sport, it’s art. He will always be my hero. A legend. I got to know yuzuru and started to see figure skating. Yuzuru's skillful skating, abundant transitions, fluffy jumps, spilling spins of music, versatile acting and charisma. I bought a ticket because I wanted to see yuzuru's skating. yuzuru should be evaluated more. If yuzuru stops the competition, I will graduate too.

I believe he is the first Japanese male skater has a perfect package . Usually Japanese skaters has great jumps skills but lack of beauty and boring . Japanese skaters faces beauty is one of important elements to competes in the world for many decades. This is not for Y Hanyu. I love his passion and new challenge every season. He is the very best skater in the world. His artistic skating and performance are breathtaking. He is a most decorative skaters in the world as well. Hope he finish next Olympic without injuries. He will continue to give a dream and thrill to fans and future young skaters.

Not only does he have an outstanding record, he is especially an amazing sportsman, always humble and respectful. There are videos about that on youtube and I encourage people to see it ( made by YuzuFlow), really make you a fan of Yuzuru even if you are not following Ice Skate (which is my case ^^). I think Yuzuru is simply the best person to have as a role model when you are an athlete. He is incredibly talented and accomplished but always remains fun and full of life.
