I just started experimenting with freeze and fuse last week and had been looking at some moon molds on Amazon lol - the technique has a lot of fun possibilities and I’ve seen some really beautiful, detailed final products :)

The lasagna pan on top of the kiln is one of the reasons I love this channel so much! you are so fun to watch and learn from!

When I do freeze and fuse, I have to schedule about two full days and I just work every mold I think I might want for awhile. It is labor intensive and time consuming, but it is so worth the effort. Love our channel. You are an amazing artist! I see myself as a glass crafter, not a glass artist. You are an artist!

@@backtoearthcreations I hear ya, my fingernails are a disaster! BTW, to help prevent the cracking, letting the pieces dry slower and using Papyrus brand paper, instead of Thin Fire, might help. I have had very good luck with that. I had the worse cracking when I left a fan on in my studio and my kiln lid was open. I won't do that again. I am still very new to fused glass, I only got my kiln in May of 2021, so not even a year yet. but I LOVE it! I have borrowed a couple of your ideas for casting cabs for pendants. I hope you don't mind. The colors you used were so pretty! And using the double thick glass on top made it so there were no bubbles. Thank you for that one!!

It is actually glass that she's working with. It's just grinded down to a powder.

I think on the ones with a crease if you put a gold paint or something it could allow it to look like that oriental art of fixing broken pottery, Kintsugi.

Love the colors. It's good you found another solution for glass moons. It looks like Hydrocal can be used to make glass molds too. That might help with making more molds in the future.

Were all of these added to your shop today? Cuz I don't see them. I see others, that are mottled gray-ish, is that how they turn out after firing?
